Default Paper for inside of cards

I have read a few threads here and on other boards that have discussed what you put inside your cards (blank, sentiments, etc.) that were very informative.

What I would like to do is put a thinner liner inside the cardstock that would be cut smaller than the cardstock.

Problem: Where to find the thinner paper? I have tried Marks papers and a few other sites with no luck.

Any recommendations?

Thanks for the suggestions and the hours of looking through the gallery at your beautiful creations!

I went to a stationers and purchased a quality "typing" paper. It is A4 and a little thicker than normal printer paper. In really good cards I use a linen paper that is a little expensive but just adds that touch of quality to my cards. I cut them down to size with my paper trimmer.

In some Christmas cards last year I used up the last of my SU! watercolour card but was not happy with how it stamped - mostly because it is slightly textured and that is not a good sight for stamps - lol. But they looked really effective.

I usually use white inside my cards, so I use either 28lb or 32lb bond paper for the inside. I do have a 24lb bond ivory that I will use with ivory cardstock bases, but for any other colour I use white. You should be able to pick up heavier bond paper at any office supply store.

The stationers idea is a good one. I am ready to kick up the quality of my cards by using the Gina K cardstock and a nice liner.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies!

The Paper Cut has a lot of colors in text weight and the prices seem good. I have purchased from this company and the quality has been good.

Text weight paper.

I use 24# linen, laid or silk paper in either white, ivory, or natural color. This is cut to 1/4 inch smaller each direction for the inside of my card. I just attach with Scor-tape at the top.

I use the same paper for the envelope as the card inside so everything is tied together.

I bought a light weight linen paper at a stationary store. The linen adds an extra touch to the inside. I have also used vellum for the inside of my cards.

Default paper for inside

i use white ..georgia pacific 110lb from walmart. I cut it 8 and 1/8 x 5 1/4 fold in half and secure it to the top flap of the inside of the card to hide anything that may be showing on the back, it makes the card easier to open if only 1 side is taped.

I also use GP white on the inside as well as matching CS from front of the card. It all depends on if I am going to decorate the inside, the type of card it is (sympathy vs. crazy birthday card), and whatever mood strikes me.

BW Stamper,

Thanks for the link to The Paper Cut. It is just what I was looking for.

I appreciate all of the replies and great suggestions, esp to pjw2855 who matches the inside to her envelope. I will definitely try that when I get my order in.

Thanks ladies! Have a great Tuesday.

I like to use SU's Whisper white inside mine, I can stamp or print on it when I make up a verse on the computer.
