I really like this set in fact I own it, but I'm a little confused with the "delight". What do you use your cards for when they have the word delight on the front. Are they used for friendship cards?

I'm going to join a swap where we have to make 10 cards from a given categorie (Get Well, Fun girlfriend card, Thank you etc). What would you consider the delight card for?

I just use them for General Type cards like the Just Because or I simply leave that off and replace it with a different saying.

I just got this set from the sale section here, but so far have done birthday and thinking of you with it. I can honestly not think of an occasion where I would use "delight" on a card. Maybe on a scrapbook page of myself in a scrapbook store, lol!!!

Default using "delight"

I used this on a birthday card and inside wrote my message using the word delight--like "it's a delight to know you", "have a delightful day", and the scripture "Delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart".

I love this set! I've used the word delight for a wedding card and a baby card.

I too wondered what to do with "delight". Finally I made a bunch of cards with the set, and just put it on the front. I gave one of them to someone in my church that I visit regularly. I wrote that it was a "delight" to visit her every month. That works pretty well. Or anything like, "you are a delight". I just love that word!

Maybe that's why it wasn't in the new IB&C catalog? I was SO disappointed that it wasn't in the new catty, because when all of my scrapbooking friends see me use it, they want it, and I can't sell it to them! )c:
I liked everybody's ideas on how to use the 'delight' though. Thanks!

Default Delight...

I've used Delight for a retirement card for my mom. It sure seems appropriate! Other than that...I've struggled with it too.

I think it's great for scrapbooking, and I'm glad to have it for other things (retirement IS a good one), but I have never used it with my Paint Prints set. I would think of it as a friendship type of saying also, but I use other word stamps for that. Gay Howe

This is one of my favorite sets, and I've never used the delight stamp, either! I was bummed too, that it didn't make it to the catalog!

I was given a Michael's gift card by my co-workers to say thank-you for all they feel I do for them. I stamped each one a thank-you card using paint prints and stamped "delight" a couple of times between the flowers as I was delighted wirh their thoughtful gift. It's not a stamp I have used often but when you need it, it's sure useful to have!

I had planned to use the delight stamp in altered books (a hobby which I'm not doing at this point in life), and didn't have a use for it otherwise. Then one day I was making a card to try out a technique and I threw in the delight. I later used the card for a wedding, and it seemed to fit.

The suggestion to use it for a retirement card is perfect, by the way.

You can also just use the 'light' part of delight, as in:
It's better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.
Eleanor Roosevelt

If you go to www.brainyquote.com you can type in 'delight' or 'light' or even 'deli' and come up with thousands of cool ways to use that stamp!

Delight would be great on a scrapbook page with kids eating ice cream or a baby's 1st Birthday with cake all over the place. Anything with kids smiling or laughing since they take delight in the simplest things in life

I used it when I got a new co- worker. I wrote... "It's a delight to have you here." on the inside.

I, too, am baffled by "delight". I have this set and I think I've used the "delight" once - on a baby card. In fact, the more you type it, the weirder it looks as a word.

I used the delight stamp multiple times as a background for a scrapbook page. I agree though--- weird sentiment for a card.

Like "hope" --- maybe for an illness or cancer, but otherwise using it on a card is kind of weird.

I used it on a scrapbook page of my son with the quote Always take Delight in the little things but on a card, I can't imagine myself using it much.

There are some great ideas for Delight posted here. When I first saw the set all I could think of was the old song, "Afternoon Delight" and I sure didn't want to use the stamp that way!!

Great idea! You could send it to a wasteful friend to persuade them to save energy and help curb global warming! ie, "Switch off Delight!" I want the lamp stamp now!!!!!

You don't have to use the word inside just cos it's on the front!

If you send someone a pretty card with flowers on it, and the word delight is there, and they open it up and you have written a little thing you note, they will "FEEL" that you were delighted, even though you don't actually say it in the note, because the card (and the word) invoked the feeling.

Same if you sent it as a birthday card! delight on the front and happy birthday inside. Not to a little kid, of course. LOL

Or as others said, anniversary new birthday, friendship, a great RAK.

About the only time I would not ever use it is for sympathy or get well. (You don't want to even hint that you are delighted that they are sick! LOL)

So - I use it all the time, to evoke a smile on the outside, and the real message is on the inside.

Here are a few ways that I had saved. I hope it helps!

Delight in the beauty that surrounds you.

Laughter, Joy, and Kindness are the herbs to gladden the heart and delight the soul.

Of all things that inspire and delight, the best to behold is nature in flight!

Does it ever amaze and delight you that of all the places in the world - cool grassy nests under hedgerows, warm patches of sun on a carpet - the cat chooses to sit on your lap?

There is no season such delight can bring
As summer, autumn, winter and the spring.
~William Browne

I was going to use delight for a scrapbook title "You're such a delight"

I used it on the outside of a card and on the inside I wrote, It was a delight hearing from you.

It's a DELIGHT to have a friend like you!

On the inside:
Hope your birthday is filled with delight!
Or:
Hope your special day is delightful!

Valentine's card: You are "delight" of my life.

Sending wishes for a wonderful birthday- full of wonder and delight!

those are great, diane!

i've saved the list on my 'puter and i think i'll print it onto card stock and trim it to fit in with the set so i have it handy when i need it!

btw - that's what i do with all the little hints etc that people have given about different sets: make a "hard copy" for reference where i'm storing the info on my 'puter and put it in the set it pertains to. it comes in real handy when youre in a creative slump! or just come on here and search the gallery by set name.
