i just got back from the container store (my favorite store) yesterday with a new desk and drawers for all my stuff my hubby suggested to hang the white wire shelving above the desk for all my stamps.(love that idea) then i will be pretty much settled into my stamp room. All i need is a color to paint the walls. the rest of my house is beige and sage. love it out there but seems to boring for a craft room. i want something bright ,but not to bright. something that will inspire the imagination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what are your opinions????
I have this same question. My craft room is currently beige and I am trying to figure out another color to paint it. Might check out the gallery also since there are posts of craft rooms in there. Would love to know what others have done.

What about a nice light yellow.....yellow is cheery and would also go with your other colors without being too offensive when you open the door! You don't want something too bright, I would think that it would disturb your creative juices.

Here's my room. It's probably too bright for you, but maybe you'll like looking at it. What I did was pick out a color of cardstock, in my case Gable Green, and pin it to my wall for a while. That helped me decide if that was really the color I wanted. Once you decide on one, you can take a scrap of the paper to the paint store and find a color that matches it pretty closely or even have them color-match the paper.
When I eventually get around to project craft room I am seriously temped to paint it (if there's any wall to paint) in Old Olive, More Mustard, Really Rust or Ruby Red. In the lighter end of the colors I could see myself go with Bashful Blue, Regal Rose or Barely Banana. Old Olive is my favorite though.

My craft room is pink, but by the time I got all the stuff up on the walls (shelves, pegboard, ribbon gutters, etc) you couldn't tell what color it was anyway. Have fun picking a color!

There is this paper that came in the Rob and Bob Slab from Provo Craft that I am going to build my whole craft room around. It has muted teal, tan, taupe, sage, cream and beige. Very earthy and soothing without being too dull. My desktop computer is down or I would scan a bit of it to show you.
If you wanted to add an additional color to what you already have, what about purple accents. My bedroom walls are sage, and my bedspread is a dark plum. I've never been a big purple fan, but I do like those colors together.
Mine is between Cool Caribbean and Tiffany box blue. I love it! I actually picked out a valance from JcPenny's and matched the blue in it. I'm like many, after everything is installed, I'm not sure how much of the color you will see. It makes me smile when I enter. I thought I was going to paint it a light yellow, but I changed my mind.
Mine is quite blue. I think it would be between Ballet Blue & Cool Caribbean. It was painted this color before it became my craft room but I think I'll keep it this color. It doesn't really match the rest of our house but I don't mind.
I'd go with yellow... like So Saffron... it's been proven that yellow stimulates creativity. It's why legal pads are yellow. So there ya go, there's your factoid for the day

mine is "certainly celery" too.... it is my fave stampin up color (well next to cool caribbean) so i took a piece of the cardstock to the paint store and matched it up to a paint chip. i really like it. it is only on the top half of the room so i don't think it's too overpowering. i love it!

Our craft/computer room is a a shade of yellow, love it. It's sort of yellow with a hint of beige, hint of apricot - similar to So Saffron, but lighter. The big problem is that there are two computers on one side of the room and whenever my son and/or husband are in there playing computer games, it is NOT stimulating for my creativity.
But, whatever color you choose, be sure to paint the ceiling a bright white. We put daylight spectrum lights above the cabinets to reflect off the ceiling and it is great.
Go to the Behr website www.behr.com and click on explore color then 'colorsmart', then 'browse colors'. It's wonderful, hundreds of colors in numerous shades. Oh, if only you could buy paper like that!
