Default Organizing card prototypes and/or ideas

I usually do a mock up of the card I am working on along with colors used, measurements, etc. in case I want to make another one. How are others keeping that information. My growing stack is just not very efficient. I would prefer not to have it on the computer because I am more of a hands on gal. Thanks in advance.

How about a 3 ring binder with clear sleeves. Do a 2 page layout. On one of the page you could include written directions. The other side could hold a Sample card. You could make an Envelope with holes punched. Inside are samples of card stock, stamp a sample of what ever words/images used . Label info on stamp set/dies, embellishments. Also who you gave this card to. (person info, swap, etc). If you do different types of categories (Birthday, Get Well) you could have your cards in different sections with dividers.
My cards that I do are done more by Techniques: different folds, dies, etc.
Add a table of contents to remind you how your book is set up.

Another vote for the 3 ring binder with clear sleeves.

Put a cheap piece of white cardstock in the sleeve for stability. Write your notes, measurements, etc for the card on this sheet and slip the prototype inside the sleeve. If you have some cs samples or leftovers of "parts" that could be used to make another card, those could be slipped on the backside of the white cardstock instruction sheet. This way all the "stuff" you need to jiggle your memory is in one sleeve and can be removed from the binder when you want to make another card.

Handy hint: ALWAYS put a date at the top of your cheat-sheet so you have a clue as to when you did the card. Also nice to make note of who you made the card for so that you don't send a duplicate card to them!

Keep in mind, none of this has to fancy or time consuming. Quick scribbled notes about dimensions and colors will do the trick.
