This is probably a dumb question but really want to understand how this works.
When you order through a SU Demos' Website is the order going directly to SU and the demo is just getting credit for the sales? If this is the way it works what information does the Demo receive about you or the order. Should there be a problem do you have to call that demo or do you call SU. I assume you would have to use a credit card to pay for order and I have a thing about individuals having my credit card information.

I order through my demos website all the time. One word of caution--there are two demo sites---weird I know. One if you just search for the demo--you can do everything and get it all ordered but you don't get your hostess benefits etc. The other is through your demo's link--you need to get that one. I know this because I have done this and had to call and get it all fixed. SU was kind and I was able to get my hostess things etc but it is a pain so a word a warning.
As for the ordering---you place your order, put in your payment information etc and the items are shipped to you directly or whatever shipping address you put in there. Your demo will get her 'cut' of the cost through SU. The credit card information is safely secured through SU. I have had a problem before with something missing and I just email my demo and she takes care of it for me. Except in the case where I messed up and placed the order incorrectly. Then I had to talk with SU so that I could get all my goodies.
I hope that makes sense. If not--ask away again and I will try to be more clear. FYI: I always do all my orders this way and it works out great--except the one time as mentioned when I made the mistake. I always check out the clearance rack too when placing my order and then play around with my order to make sure I get the most amount of freebies with the least amount of paying (like pushing it over by a dollar by reworking my list and then getting the items free that I originally had in my cart)
My demo is my online friend, so I email her my list and she puts it in for me, that way I know it is done correctly. The only thing she can't do for me is order off the clearance rack for me, I have to do that myself, but I always go to her SU website (which she has listed on her blog), to make sure she gets the credit if I go to the clearance rack.
Unless you give your credit card number to the demo, only Stampin' Up! will have the number. The demo will receive an e-mail that an order was placed and what I do is go to the demo website and print a copy off for my records. It lists only the items, not CC info. The demo also receives notice when the order ships.
If you have a problem with the order, I'd go first to the demo.
Don't forget to add on any Sale-A-Bration items you may earn plus hostess benefits.

If you go to the SU website and start looking around the "store" you will notice 2 prices - Regular and Preferred. The Preferred price is actually the catalog price. SU lets you order from them directly but if you don't specify a demonstrator (anyone in your country) you pay the higher, regular price. I think it is just their way to encourage you to have a relationship with a demonstrator. Just use the Find a Demonstrator link at the top of the page to choose someone in your area or a friend across country.

I'm not sure how it happened. Instead of going through my demo's site which I had bookmarked I just went to the SU site. I was able to get the preferred price but not all the goodies. If the box on the left says you can earn SU rewards then you know you are fine. I noticed that it said you must do 'xyz' to get them but thought it would eventually change. Perhaps the system is updated now and you won't have that problem. I did this sometime last year. All I know if SU was great and fixed everything for me and I got all the goodies.
I do not ever order any other way than the website and works great for both me and my demo.

If you order from the SU website (not your demo's website or ANY demo that you plug in) you do NOT get hostess stuff. If you order from a demo on their website you do. It's kind of like paying the higher price on the SU site....they want to encourage you to use a demo and those are two ways they do it. Make sense? I know it's very confusing!!!
