I recently purchased three SU stamp sets that were supposed to be double mounted. I know SU has discontinued this practice because many stampers were not fond of it and I am glad. The reason they did this in the first place was to save the buyer money. However, since I don't like double mounted stamps, I ended up buying some wood blocks and making my own labels for them. I'm sure this ended up costing me more in the long run than it would have had SU just provided the blocks in the first place and charged a higher price for the set. It's been frustrating for me because I haven't gotten to play with these stamp sets and I have had them for a couple of weeks. In any case, my problem is all solved and now if I can just find mo and jo, I will be all set!
I'm with ya on the double-mounted thing and so glad SU has decided to discontinue that. When you find your mo and joe, send some over here too, would ya? Happy stamping!

Reason: just can't type!
Isn't it fabulous that they listened to our feedback!
Just so you know, alphabets will continue to be double-mounted (good thing, because I don't want to have to corral 30 or more individual stamps!), as will stamps that are part of a kit like the Simply Sent kits. Also, any current double-mounted sets will remain that way till they retire.

I just got my Stampin' Up order from last month and it has more stamps than blocks. Also the labels for the blocks are VERY, VERY tiny. Really too small to read all the print. Since I don't use the wood or labels, now that I am rubber only stamping, it doesn't matter. Anyone who does wood mount I would think would have a problem seeing them.
It's the set with the tree and the branch with the tiny flowers on it. There are several word stamps in the set also (I don't use the word stamps either).
I love the double mounted stamps. They save space (for me). And I love word stamps, too. I am feelin like a weirdo here. I guess there is something for everybody, and nobody will be happy all the time.
oooh that is good to read about, i didnt know they were going to stop that double mounting...
i have been suggesting to my demo that they sell the extra blank blocks to people like me... so its nice to see im not alone...
( i mean they sell empty boxes so why not? )
I don't mind double-mounted for the smaller sizes, but I hate it with the larger stamps. It's just too hard for me to push down with my hand on the rubber. I'm fussy, I admit.
Plus I do hate the small labels.
I'm glad too that SU cares about what we think!
I have refrained from buying some double-mounted sets, because they are double mounted! I don't mind double mounting for tiny stamps like Everyday Flexible Phrases, but a large stamp like Inspired by Nature, I'll pass. If I order SU, I don't want to pay for someone else's wood, YKWIM
