There was a thread here a couple of weeks ago about a stamp -- Hero Arts Haiku Bunny -- that sold on Ebay for $66. So I thought, geez I have that and also the Gumball Graphics Santa Face stamp, which also sold, that one for $55 or something. So I put them up on Ebay over the weekend.
SOMEBODY JUST BOUGHT THE GUMBALL GRAPHICS SANTA! I had a buy it now price of 49.99 and somebody bought it! I know these things happen on ebay but holy cow! I'm so excited.
I know, probably ho hum to some folks but it'll sure help buy some presents for dh for Christmas that he doesn't have to know about, kwim?
It's kinda bittersweet though, isn't it?? When someone buys my "buy it now" stuff right away I always think "geez, I wonder how much more I could have set that price at??" I'm such a money grubber!! LOL!
I put that original thread out there about the Haiku Bunny. Congratulations! I think it is great that your stamps turned out to be a phenomenal investment.
Since it was rare, the individual who spent that much is probably delighted to have it.

Isn't that the way, lol??? I almost didn't do the "buy it now" feature just because of that, but decided it was SO worth it to not fret over how the bidding was going. The other one, Haiku Bunny, still hasn't had bids, just watchers. Go figure.
And Nina, THANK YOU SO MUCH for that post, lol! It pushed me over the edge to put these stamps on Ebay. Now if only my entire collection of non-SU stamps would be that valuable......dh would be ecstatic!
Wow! That is a lot of money for one stamp!!! What did the Santa Stamp look like? I did a search but it didn't come up. I'd love to see it!!! Congrats on your "hidden" xmas money!!!

You have to search under "Complete Listings". Let's see if this link works:
Reminds of the retired SU! set Dreams & Dragons (which I still want!!) that recently went for $89 on eBay. So now someone is offering the set with a BIN of $90! Yikes!

You just turned me into one of the watchers, I'd love to have that stamp. At this time of year I just can't find a way to justify spending that much on a stamp. Good luck to you!
Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
I have a few sets that I love and I can't believe the prices they have gone for on Ebay! So far, I can't part with them but the quick cash does tempt me a lot! (especially when a new catty comes out) - my prized collection includes dreams and dragons, snow globe (only around $30 for that one) and 12 days of christmas.

Congrats Betsy...you are such a good wife, sacrificing one of your stamps so you can get your DH a nice Christmas gift, good for you.
 Well, as far as my husband is concerned, getting rid of ALL of my stampin supplies would be the best present of all, I'm afraid! I must say that using the money to buy him a gift wasn't my initial motivation for putting the stamp up on ebay, lol. I just felt bad hanging on to a stamp that might fetch THAT much money, kinda guilty, I guess.
Besides, being able to say my "investment" paid off might help him to see that it's not all "money going out," kwim?
I have been searching for this stamp for over a year. I had previously told DH that if I ever saw the stamp on ebay, I wouldn't care if I had to pay through the nose for it. I was buying it!
I was sitting at the computer one night doing some work and SOMETHING, completely out of the blue, just told me to look on ebay for the gumball santa. I was so completely shocked to see it there and with a "Buy It Now"! Of course, my fingers were going a mile a minute and I hit the BIN without even reading the description, lol. After reading your description, I realized that it said "shipping in the US only" and that is why I had you send the stamp to a friend of mine in California. She intercepted the stamp and then sent it on to me! Of course, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the stamp! Thank you so much
And of course, I JUST had to make a card the minute it arrived. You can see it here:

Sherry!!! I JUST SAW THIS CARD LAST NIGHT!!! I thought it was you, but then I thought, "no, she had me send it to somebody else!" What a gorgeous card!
I 'm so sorry you had me send it to your friend in Calif. OF COURSE I would have sent it to you. The only reason I put "US Shipping" is because I can't figure out a way ahead of time what to put for shipping when it's not domestic rates.
I'm gonna change my ebay feedback to say, "when I saw what buyer did with the stamp I wanted it back!" Sherry, I'm so glad you got the stamp and will actually DO something with it. I chased him for a long time myself. Actually, I wound up buying him from the manufacturer at home after his business had closed. And then.......nothing. I took a hiatus from stamping for a year or two and then kinda forgot about him.
Thanks so much for taking the time to bring the card to my attention! It was so sweet.
