I'm frustrated. I have "get well" sentiments in abundance but I don't find them particularly helpful when trying to send a card to someone who, lets say, has had a knee replacement. Or has had surgery for cancer. Or...you fill in the blank. I get tired of only using "thinking of you" for these times.
I would love to find a stamp set or two that has useful sentiments for these occasions. Any suggestions?
DRS Designs has a great selection of get well stamps, including one for knee replacement. Here's the link for the get well category (scroll down a little for the knee replacement sentiment):
I especially like the 2nd set with all the variety. I have an older single stamp from Hobby Lobby "I hope this finds you feeling better" in a fairly large vertical format. I like this a lot better than the 'command' GET WELL SOON.
I'm frustrated by the abundance of "caught a bug?" type sentiments. I don't usually send cards to people who have a cold or the flu, but I often need cards for people who have had surgery, or were hospitalized for things like heart attacks or strokes.
I've gotten creative (used a mummy for a friend who had a mole removed from her face, and stitched together a heart die for a friend who had a valve replacement), but I still need the sentiments.
I've sworn off PTI, so I'm hoping some other suggestions show up.

No blog for me. My gallery chronicles my card-making successes and mishaps.
I have the saying "Hope you're on your feet again soon." My friend bought the image of 2 feet with a flower between the toes on one of the feet. I'm pretty certain they were purchased from "Crackerjack Palace" at our rubber stamp convention. Sorry, I don't know how to link these items, but you should find them on their website.
I just went to the website for Crackerjack Palace Rubber Stamps and found the small feet image on page 20 and the large feet on p. 28. They had a sentiment something like "Not feeling your best, stay in your nest" and another one referring to a broken arm that had to do with sling, too. Hope this helps.
Having recently had a very close friend pass away from cancer I've had to do many of these kinds of cards. I have found some stamps that are encouraging which work very well for this. I've also found sentiments on line that are wonderful.

And here is one you can type up on your computer:
Cancer is so limited...
It cannot cripple love.
It cannot cripple love.
It cannot shatter hope.
It cannot corrode faith.
It cannot eat away peace.
It cannot destroy confidence.
It cannot kill friendship.
It cannot shut out memories.
It cannot silence courage.
It cannot reduce eternal life.
It cannot quench the Spirit.
One other thing works well too- humor. There is nothing funny about cancer but sometimes just to make the person smile is worth something. Art Impressions has some fun stuff.
I hope this helps, Diane and I do wish the best for your friend!
Sometimes you just need to think outside of the box a bit, take a step back and give your stamps a look from another view point.
The inside of this card was done on my computer and said, "Need a lift? Hope this card gives you a laugh." I did it for a teen male after he had knee surgery and he love it, thought it was very funny. He was showing it to everyone who came to visit him.
or come up with your own computer generated sentiments and save it in folder in a USB memory stick; then you can personalize them to fit the occasion and person, even with their name.

Thanks for mentioning Thoughts and Prayers, Diane. I missed seeing that "on the road to recovery". I might separate the two parts of that stamp so that I can use them separately.
I like a lot of the single sentiments from the sets you all suggested. Maybe I should use Carolyn's advice and do them on the computer.
And, like Sue, I've sworn off PTI. There are just too many stamp companies who put their customers first to give my skimpy funds to one who doesn't. I do like the first set of the PTI ones, though! ;)
Diane ~ Good idea to actually separate the two parts on that one stamp. Like you, I like the top part about "on the road to recovery", but don't want to use the "get well soon" part on the bottom.
I thought I would use the stamp by coloring only the recovery part with markers, or I could stamp it and cut away the "Get Well Soon" & use only the recovery part on the card.
To cut off the "get well soon" part on the actual stamp makes it a lot easier to use.

That sentiment (at least most of it) is available as a stamp from DRS Designs. The link to their get well stamps is in my previous post (#6) ... in case you or someone else prefers stamping vs printing it (I do both depending on the situation and design).

for get well farmers; the 'are you cured yet" works really well, I used su farm fever set with raffia straw added to card. The farmer got a kick out of the card

I had not heard of Crackerbox Palace. They had some great snarky stamps I had to get. Thanks!

I own that too, and the image of the pig/hog in bed. I know lots of folks that love pork so if any of them need such a card I'm ready.

If someone is in the hospital and it isn't something like cancer - you can always go with humor. Bugaboo makes some great "nurse" stamps. One of them has a nurse holding a small bottle and the sentiment says "its better to give than to receive". Most people really like that one.
