Cool No Hostess Sets in 2014 Holiday Mini?

Does anyone know why there isn't any Hostess sets in the new Holiday Mini?

There is a cute sentiment set that will be available for hostesses...the font is similar to the words in SU Endless Wishes and will have year-round versatility. More details to come when the catalog is live!

Thanks Makalah. I like to make the most of my purchases and get hostess sets when I order. This sounds confusing and I hope it isn't a coming trend.

I don't understand the idea of finding out when the catalog goes live; my list is ready to go and I would rather not have any surprises ☺ guess I am not getting whatever its gonna be

It goes live tomorrow the 28th--Don't give up so easily--you may love what ever it is.
Good luck!

I can't share a picture yet, but it's called Good Greetings, and contains 19 cute sentiments you'll be able to use throughout the year. It will be free to hostesses with a $300 order. This will be in addition to the hostess benefits you get (with a $300 order/workshop that's $50 in product) including hostess sets from the annual catalog or any product in either catalog. So if you have a large wishlist, you'll get it, otherwise contact your demonstrator to plan a party.

Demonstrators should get more info about the promotion and you'll likely see pictures on the SU website on the 28th... only a couple more days to be patient!

Well, I am always a party of one. And I can't afford to spend $300 so I guess no more freebies for me. Very disappointing. But then I'm also disappointed in the amount of photopolymer stamps in the catalogue too. I like wood mount stamps. Yes, I have bought the photopolymers but I don't like them. Too easy to get lost, too easy to rip. Not happy with the new SU trend. But good news is, I will be saving money since I have only found one set I want and it isn't worth the ridiculous shipping costs.

Edit for typos, there are likely more I haven't found yet

Yep, $300 is too rich for my blood :( I am good though because I am getting the trimmer with my hostess rewards and I have wanted that since they changed the size Also, the blossom punch is on sale right now so that took a few dollars off my total and allowed me to grab some of the silver bakers twine My only complaint is the shipping cost (that could buy a lot more stuff!!!) but if I find myself getting too uptight over it, I just consider my hostess dollars to be free shipping and I feel a little better ;)

I agree it's odd. I think they like to "surprise" people. And they have said, they are trying all kinds of new stuff this year just to mix things up. That's great if you like surprises...I'm not a fan lol! But, it's good to know that they are trying new things to see what works and what doesn't and it's good to have a heads up that they are trying different things.

I have to say it is a cute set. Words always get me! And I can't believe the catalog is live tomorrow? Is that right? The new mom has no idea what's going on lately lol!!!!

Bummer about having to spend $300 to get the free set, especially since I'm always "in the market" for sentiment stamps. My wish list from the holiday mini is enough for the minimum hostess rewards, but no where near $300!. I couldn't' afford to spend that much even if I wanted to!

Maybe each of you have a few stamping friends that you can ask to join your party. With the online hostess code, your demo can set you up as a hostess, enter your order, and see how close to the extra free set you are, then you can have friends shop with their

Or you can wait until it makes it to the B/S/T forum. They always do. Patience wins out in the end!

I will watch ebay for it. Sounds like a good sentiment sent. They should just sell it OR give it free for over $300. That's ridiculously high.

And hi Minders, hope you're feeling well. Wish I was close to help out and spend some snuggle time with your little one. Soon I will get my own little grand to snuggle. Too bad she lives a thousands miles away.

Back to topic, boo on the $300!

Hey! And thanks, I'm good although a little tired and little homesick but I'm getting the hang of it :-) My mom was here for almost a month which spoiled me :-) Have fun with yours!!!!!!! I hope that you're able to visit as much as you can!!!!

And I was a bit surprised at the price point too but it's a large set I suppose and like I said, they like to try new things. I think most of us assumed it would just be for hosting a workshop but you know what happens when we assume anything lol!! That's one of my dad's favorite expressions. But I think we all feel for those who really want the set but can't get that big of a workshop (or order alone)! I got the set so I need to play with it....or ANY of my stamps hahaha!

Just checked the SU site and don't see the Holiday Catalogue and the new very expensive sentiment set, thought today was the day it goes live.

How wonderful that your mom got to stay so long Minders. I new to win the lottery so I can go visit that grand whenever I want to ;-)

Okay did some more hunting since I was curious. Here is the set.
Good Greetings Wood-mount Stamp Set

It does say it is $22 or free with a $300 party. So it isn't really a hostess set that is a specific set that can only be from ordering. Ugh. I didn't sleep a wink last night and that makes no sense to me either!

I placed my order this morning and was surprised to see a dollar value on the set. Thought maybe could use it has part of hostess rewards (and not get it free because the order wasn't $300.) Their system will not let you buy it or add as a hostess reward so I guess you really have to spend $300 in product. Didn't SU used to assign levels for certain hostess sets and no dollar value? i.e. I think you had to have a $300 order to get a level 3 hostess set. I can understand some business strategy to possibly drive up sales but it also leaves out a lot of their faithful customers who cannot spend $300, be able to host a party or go in with someone else. Very confusing IMO

Catalogue wasn't there this morning when I was looking but I see it now. That is so weird that the price is there but you can't order it. Very disappointing. Thought we were going to luck out as an either/or item. Don't understand their thinking. No Hostess Sets, high shipping. I only want a couple items but not enough to spend that much on shipping sadly.

No way can I afford to spend $300, no stamp set is worth spending that much to get it. I usually keep orders well under $100 and ignore the hostess sets. Years ago when I was building up my supplies I got a few hostess sets-that I still use-but only those at the lowest level.
