New Year's Day 2:00 PM Challenge - Early Bird Special - One More Fling!
Hi everyone! Jen and I "talked" via PM and we're starting the New Year's Day challenges an hour earlier than originally scheduled - so we all can have an extra hour of fun!
This time of year people often say "out with the old, in with the new". Well, I'd like you to throw that thought out the window. Your challenge is to create a card using one of SU's *RETIRED* stamp sets and have "One More Fling" with it. It can be as recently retired as the 2005 Holiday Mini Catty, or an old set that hasn't been in the Idea Book & Catalog for years.
Cards can be any theme and use any color scheme. Use whatever technique you like, and embellish as you wish! Current phrase stamps and background stamps are permitted, as are stamps from other companies. But the main dominant image of your card must be from a retired SU set.
ETA: If you still have some of the retired cardstock and ink colors, this is a great time to pull them out and use them!
Please feel welcome to put a thumbnail of your card in this thread so we can oooooh and ahhhhh over it now. ;) On Monday when you upload it to the gallery, please put NYDC2 in the keyword box so it will be easy to find in the future. And please, please be sure to tell us what set the stamp(s) came from.
Oh, this is too funny! Minutes ago, I uploaded my thumbnail for masculine cards using Born to Ride. Guess I'll go find another one. I AM READY TO PLAY!!!
I used the Friendship Grows stampset. stamped onto confetti and then used blender pen with chalks to color. dabbed around edges with more mustard and an accent of old olive to spruce up the verse and a nice cream colored bow.

Ok, you addicted stampers - I just now found this. I wonder if I have time to stamp something - normally it takes me ssooo long. I'll give it a whirl. By the way badmom - you used one of my fav stamp sets.

It's called Fish Frolics. It retired about 3 years ago. As you can see, I'm so attached to it that I'm STILL holding onto it! I did a shaving cream background with it.
I loved this set. I don't have many retireds....
Here's mine, but the picture stinks. I hate taking photos with a flash grrrrrr. Can't wait till morning to re-take this so you can see the colors better~
