Minders, or anyone who might know......I see that Sweet Treats is retiring. How long are they going to have the Sweet Treat Cups available? should I order a bunch?? Thanks
Since they're not retiring, they should be available for the next catalogue year.

Why would they retire Sweet Centers (and all 4 sets that go with the sweet treat cups) but not the cups?? I guess that's ok for those of us who still use the Sweet Center Set. I'll order a few boxes just in case!! Thanks!!

I stopped stock piling from the "retiring" stuff a few years ago. I went NUTS and ordered like 10 packs of Cool Caribbean paper and STILL have it! I also had a stamp set that I had to have but wasn't sure about it...it retired, and I bought it off ebay for the same price. I leanred if I like it and its retiring, get it but don't go nuts over it because chances are there is going to be something super awesome in the new catty. I do like to see it in advance though, but it doesn't affect what I would buy from the retiring catty at all.
I haven't bought stamps from SU in awhile. There were ones I liked but they were older and wood mount and I didn't want those. I am thrilled they are offering the old ones in cling now.
BTW ...
I'm researching my genealogy. "Open Sea" would be an awesome addition to some of my genealogy scrapbook pages and it would make a great masculine card. I sure wouldn't mind if some demos order that set and post some cool cards. HINT, HINT!
Whoa she is? I want your dective skills.. how in the world did you find that out?

Well that isn't always necessarily the truth. You have to be a demo to join the demo group here, but it's up to you to remove yourself if you are no longer a demo.

YIKES!
That means anyone who clicks on mine sees, "Stamp Out Fat!"
That's not exactly the first impression I want to send out to people who want to know about me. I kind of wish our participation in the private groups was ... well ... private.
My apologies. Shame on the demo who shared the link on her blog.
I saw the link to the Canadian catalog on a blog as well, and it was not on a demo's blog. I just couldn't figure out what to change to get the US version.
100% agree that IF Stampin' Up really wanted the catalogs to not be leaked, they would require some sort of login to view it. Think about it for a minute - by saying "oh that's supposed to be a secret, no-one is supposed to be able to see that yet", isn't it human nature to feel like now you HAVE to see it? Maybe it's just me What a great marketing strategy to whip stampers into a frenzy.
And I am thrilled that I'll be able to finally buy Lovely As a Tree in clear mount.

You are correct but the original person who prompted this discussion stated they are not and have never been a demo.

There should be LOTS of samples in the gallery already! It's a carry over from LAST year's summer mini!!!!:-)

My first Stampin' Up purchase (since 1996/1997) was last fall, which is why I didn't see the summer mini. But you'd have thought I would have come across it on the Website. Sheesh! I must have been BLIND!:oops:

Gotcha! And no worries...it was kind of "hidden":-)
They just sort of added it as a write in because it was so popular so it hasn't been in the catalog and the website can be goofy if you ask me! But like I said, I think that the gallery should have lots of samples!!!! You can actually purchase it now in fact since it's a write in! No need to wait for June 1 if you don't want to! I should dig mine out...hasn't seen ink in a while!

Just to clarify, it didn't have to be a demo that originally shared the link although it's obviously possible. There are a number of people who've gotten good at guessing the URL that are not demos. Since SU doesn't put the link on the secure side of the website, anyone that creatively googles and finds it, can do with it as they please if they aren't a demo.
So while I would be disappointed with any demo who shared it inappropriately, I wouldn't assume that the only way it got out there was a demo. It's possible someone was just that good.
"This has happened for years with the mini catalogs and SU has done nothing to fix this problem. In my opinion, I think SU likes having these leaks. If they didn't then, they would have fixed the problem years ago."
It does make you wonder if SU! wants the new catalogs to leak out to create a buzz--that's what Apple does!

LOL! You can figure out the link to the catalog but can't figure this out? LOL! I'm totally just kidding:-)
You can either just type the simileys....like a : + - + ) is a smiley face or click "go advanced" down by the post submit reply button and they will show up on the right side:-) They will also show up if you are quoting a post! HTH!
I had to run errands. Glad to see Minders told you how to add them. Actually, when I click to reply to something, they appear at the far right and you can choose one of those or click on more and get more choices!:arrow:
I have to agree with post# 95 (cbet). This happens every year (and with the minis as well). And every year it is a very emotional topic for some. Stampin' Up! could find a way to fix this if they truly didn't want the catalog to be "leaked". Why not keep the catty a secret to all and just share a few stamp sets with demos, so that they can begin making samples???

All the sets (except the single a la carte stamps) are available in both clear mount and wood. That includes the older sets like Lovely as a Tree and background stamps.
I was right! I figured as much when so many of the retiring sets were wood. Can't wait to see the new catty. I held out FOREVER on Lovely as a Tree waiting for clear and then my family just bought it for me at Christmas!
I just looked at the new catalog (yes, via the naughty link) and I really like the layout this year! There were so many more closeup photos to really see the detail of the samples, and the way they set it up had me looking at sets that have been around in completely new ways. I am still looking forward to having the actual catalog in hand, but this was a nice preview.
