I love the christian Christmas stamp set. I also really like the halloween set.
I think that we have all been really hard on SU, and I hope that everyone soon gets back on track and leaves the old catalogue behind, and just dig in and enjoy the new one....."happy stampin everyone"
It means they don't have to be trimmed...all you do is pop them out of the rubber and mount to the wood....ready to go!
So are they all in the simply sent kits? Or is SU no longer making us mount? Are the prices of the die cut stamps higher than the uncut rubber? I thought that was why we had to mount our own "to save money"
Actually JanTink posted a price comparison of the wrapping paper, and SU's is right in line with any other brand, and has matching ribbons you can get.

No Simply sent kits.
Higher prices?
Honestly... I'm not sure... cuz everything is pricier this year.

No they aren't all kits, and I think the prices are right in line with the catty.
Not sure about the die cut thing, maybe we'll hear more soon as to why.

I know that we are all ticked off about the 12x12 paper, and some are ticked off about the ribbon being discontinued and that there will be more sets discontinued every six months, but we will just have to be more choosy on the sets we buy so that we don't get stuck with a pile of discontinued sets
(I for one have 74 discontinued sets) From no on I will only buy one or two sets and hope that I chose the ones that my workshop people like....;)

Retiring twice a year now?
Wow! I'm thinking about becoming a demo, and now that's going to be so hard! Talk about a money eater! You can't demo retired items.
I have that problem now. I've been out of SU for about a year and a half, and I have lots of retired stamps.
Yea! A new mini!!!! Can't wait. I love my "old" sets but I love to keep things fresh too! I think the idea of keeping the designs updated is right on target with the competitive market in the craft/stamping world right now. Seems like folks are more easily bored these days.
All the stamps being die cut in this mini is probably a way for them to test out the reaction and interest! I really like cutting my own because I like them trimmed very closely...but... having them pre-cut will only make it easier and I won't have to trim as much. It's all good!
Can't wait to see the ribbon. I love the new ribbon offered in the FW but love the idea of more choices for the "in" colors! The new colors are FABO~!
I don't know about you but I just love paging through the minis again and again!

My understanding from my SU! demo was that sets were not going to be retired every six months, just that they would not all be shown in the current six month catalog. That's why there is a dormant list. This dormant list doesn't have a lot on it, but the Spring/Summer one may be a lot bigger depending on the size of the Spring/Summer 2008 book and how many sets they add. We were told that the sets in this current book will be available for sale until June 30, 2008. But maybe an SU! demo can let us know if this is correct.
