I have just sold my house and I would like to make something to leave in the house for the new home owners. I don't know anything about them except that they are a young couple.
Does anybody have any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Kendra

We are closing on our first house in Feb! Maybe the owners will leave us something. I have seen someone make a little book with the manuals and everyone arounds phone number.
The best gift you can give is to clean! LOL! Especially the OVEN! We won't discuss what the one here looked like when we moved in..... eeeeewwwww! Other than that, a case of soda for painting day? A thoughtful list of the contractors you have used for work on the house?
Do you know if this is their first home? Maybe a little mini scrapbook/journal with "Our First House" theme? Stamped tile coasters with "Our First House" and the escrow closing date on them?
It might be nice to leave a basket of items they'll need as they are moving in...hand soap, paper towels, snacks items, etc. along with a nicely typed list of all the neighbors names and phone numbers (and maybe a little bit about them). A set of hand stamped coasters would be a lovely gift.
WOW! Some GREAT ideas ladies! Now I don't know which one to use. I will definitely use the one where I leave it clean. :-) When I moved into this house it was VERY nasty and I wouldn't do that to the next home owner.
I do know that this is their first home so using that theme is a good idea.
I had thought about the "we have moved" postcards, but would I stamp the front and they fill out whatever they want to write on it or should I print them with their new address directly on it? decisions decisions!!!
Amanda - I hope that you receive something when you move into your new place. Congrats on buying a new home! :-)

Kendra-
How cool are you? I really like the idea of We've moved cards- if they are all done (including their new addy) it would make it super easy on them to fill out the address they are sending to and pop it in the mail. Another thought that came to mind was stamping a cover plate for their utility/laundry room? It might seem silly, but it would possibly stay with the house and be a special part of it.

Hey, if spending a bit of money isn't a problem, how about giving her one of SU! personalized stamps?
Love the ideas about the "just moved" card - excellent idea!
Have a stamp-happy day!

How about a note pad with a stamped cover and a pen on the kitchen shelf is nice...or a magnetic pad for the fridge? Seems like the minute you walk in the door you start making lists of things you need in your new home!
I'm gonna second (or third) the paper towel, toilet paper idea. When we moved into our first house the sweet lady that lived there before us had left us some and it was a lifesaver!
When we moved out and our renters were moving in, I left them the same thing but also a yummy-smelling candle. She loved the candle!

I made it! Dec 2006-July 2007!
My nonstamping, weight-loss blog sort of.
What about some microwave popcorn and a 2L soda bottle along with the number to the nearest video store or pizza place. That way when they are tired from moving they can relax a bit?:p

When we moved I left the new owners a set of we've moved cards made with Right at home. I left the inside blank. I didn't know their new phone numbers, or whatever else they wanted to include. I did leave them my personalized stamp address and an ink pad. I just cut off my name. I also left them all of the warranty/manuals for appliances and a bunch of menus from neighborhood take out places.
What about a cute stamped(of course) folder with all of the take out menus. And, a list of numbers for utilities, trash pick up, etc. I made a list for the new owners of our old house. They were so grateful.
I have put toilet paper in the cupboard in the bathroom
I have several rolls of paper towels for them in the kitchen
I am in the process of making them "we've moved" cards and I have already made them address labels, a candle, a note pad for the fridge, and a paint can all with the "Right at Home" set.
I am hoping that they will like it all.
Thanks again for all the GREAT ideas!
Kendra
