S One of the things that helped me to decide that this stamp was the one for me was this chart that Jessica Williams, an Australian SU demo, put together. It shows what the image looks like when stamped in 19 different SU ink colors. I still (heart) Hardwood - The Paper Caper
Wow! Now I really want this stamp. I may need to add it to the order I gave my friend yesterday. Hmmmm.....
My wish list is huge! But, I got swirly bird, jars of love, strength and prayers, and joyful nativity in this order. I also got the new sprinkles punch and foam strips for shaker cards. My order is coming on Tuesday, and I can't wait to play!

Love Swirly Bird and ordering Jars of Love. Lots on my list and keep changing my order . Let us know how you like the foam strips for shaker cards. I'm torn on ordering it. I cut notches out of regular foam tape to transverse corners and circles and it works just fine, don't know if it would be worth it. I'm also considering the Large Letters Alphabet and die set for decorative framed projects. Lots more on my list! Decisions, Decisions!
Here is the link I found for a PDF of the cat-says it is from June 1st. from the SU general website. There is an index at the bottom. I would suggest you pull the slider down on the right side to move around instead just scrolling.
I have the same problem I always do. I like 2 things from a set so it isnt worth it to me.
The only stand alone I am thinking about is hardwood bg, the curvy keepsake box-I dont have a box die and I like that shape but very expensive- and the get well soon that is "in the steam" for over a bowl of soup or something.
The floral speciality paper you can brayer seems nice but I would make my own.
The rest are sentiment sets that I want one out of or something.
The bundles in the US book are 10% too. I dont know if that is down from 15% before.

The SU you tube video for shaker cards sold me on the strips. Super easy!
In the Canadian catalogue the inkspots are on page 180 in the hard copy but it is 182 in the electronic numbering of the pages in the pdf. I'm surprised to see these are felt inkspots and not foam considering the large pads are foam.

Lola G - I don't know why the "quote" function won't work when I try to do that to reply to your comment, so I'm just calling you out this way... Thanks for the link, especially because others might not have seen it and it's DEFINITELY worth seeing! That chart is the main reason that the Hardwood stamp is still on my list. Great reminder... ;)

It may be that the faom in the large pads doesn't work very well in a smaller form. I made my own ink spots a couple of years ago using Cut 'n Dry Foam, but they were too squishy and broke down over time, so I recently re-did them all with the Cut 'n Dry Felt - MUCH better!

I knew you made your own, but was wondering what worked for you as pads. What is cut 'n dry felt and is it something I could get at a fabric shop?

Same as US catalog. Page 180 and PDF page 182, but it still shows actual page number as 180 at the bottom of the page.

Sue, I'm so glad to know this! I've got one of those two products around here somewhere, and I've been thinking about making some spots to use with my MISTI. How have you stored the spots you've made?
I ordered the sitting here swing set, in-color ink pads, markers, and mixed cs pack. The baby bear stamp called to me but I wish there was a companion die. The wider cello bags should accommodate nuggets. Blooms and wishes and better than email are ordered. Tear tape and dimensional, and clearance Halloween washi take round out the list. Got a few rewards products so I am happy as a sugarplum!

I am not sure what is different between US catalogues and Australian ones - but I love, love, LOVE the Baby Bear - that is a 'must-have'!
There are also so many other things that I love in the catalogue:
Seaside Textured Impressions embossing folder + Seaside Shore stamp set + the By the Shore papers.
Endless birthday wishes - awesome for quick & simple cards
Bella & Friends (puppies) stamp set - so adorable!
Pretty Kitty stamp set - also totally adorable!
Watercolor words - love how the words look like they are hand-painted
Many other things that I love. Haven't had the catty very long so this is only a brief list from a quick look through it. Are going to the doctor's tomorrow morning so I'll take my catty with me then - so much more fun to read than any others that they have on offer
Probably the only thing I would wish for would be a bigger range of Christmas things as I LOVE making Christmas cards - which is what got me started in my cardmaking journey.

I'd love to link to my blog to the posts I have about this, but apparently Typepad is having issues this morning. Here is a link to the thread here on Splitcoast where I first shared my process: DIY Stampin' Spots. The links are in that thread, if Typepad gets its act together, lol.
I originally used Cut 'n Dry Foam, but found it was too squishy and broke down over time (I believe it was intended for pigment inks or temporary uses), so I re-did them a couple of months ago with Cut 'n Dry Felt:
and gave them to my daughter. I made a new set for myself using the larger boxes from the same cases, which are THESE:
Instead of the Really Useful pencil boxes that I originally used for storage, I put all of hers in one of THESE CASES:
and mine are all in THIS three-drawer desktop unit:
I do need to mention that I told my daughter to store hers by standing it up on the hinged end on a bookcase or something, so the dividers are like little shelves for the inkpads, rather than having the case lying flat and all the ink pads upended. Don't know if it would matter, really, but better safe than sorry, right?
Sue, thank you so much for taking the time with your post – all the info is much appreciated! It's always nice to have options, so now I need to figure out what makes the most sense for me. The package of the stamp pad felt doesn't look familiar color-wise, so I'm thinking that what I might have is the foam. I'll take a look later today. Thank you again!

I am SOOOOO happy that SU! "finally" began offering empty spots since they discontinued stampin spots in the color families. Thanks for pointing out the issues with Cut n Dry Foam (I too made spots using CNDF and should check to see if they are still in good condition/not broken down). I may have to remake spots using the new SU! felt spots.
$1.80 per stampin spot seems a bit steep in my opinion; I was surprised to see 5 spots for $9.00. I was hoping to see 10 in a package.

I don't know cost to make your own as you have done but would be more trouble than it's worth to me. The $1.80 per cube from SU is a little cheaper than a couple other places mentioned in the past on SCS by about 9 or 10 cents. One cube plus reinker from SU is $5.05. One SU full size stamp pad and reinker is $11.75.
I ordered the SU Spots and reinkers for the new In Colors so will have to see how that works for me.
I am pleased with the quality of the spots. They took the ink well, inked the stamps well, and the lid has just the right amount of "snug fit" to keep them closed. I got 25 today and will get at least that many more on my next order.
As you can see below, I am busy reorganizing my reinkers and choosing the colors I want on the spots this evening.

Playful Pals - so versatile and VERY fun!
There is very little Christmas stuff in the annual catty and only one set is new, most will be in the Holiday catty that will be out in September.
I have an order coming tomorrow with the puppy and kitty sets, too darling to pass up.

I keep going back and forth on what I will be ordering this month but since I won't be able to play with it until the end of the month I am holding off. One great thing about the Paper Pumpkin kits, well there are many great things, is each kit comes with a Stampin Spot. That's another great reason to order the kits in my opinion.

Lynn, thanks for all the information and the photo! I hope it continues to go well.
I think I'll get some of the uninked spots to replace my reds that have developed "the sheen". Will be an economical solution if the ink in the refills is still good.
Hi Victoria -- not to hijack this thread, but . . . are you referring to a somewhat crusty, splotchy residue on the top of a stamp pad. I pulled out Rose Red the other day and it was a mess. I thought maybe it had frozen or I'd done something wrong with it. Is this a known issue with the SU! reds?
FYU, Cut 'N Dry Foam is to be used with PIGMENT inks. Cut 'N Dry Felt is to be used with DYE inks. Both are Ranger products. I signed up for Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry online classes and he discusses these products.

It's so interesting to see what everyone likes. The catalog definitely has a little something for everyone. There are quite a few sets where I like 25% of the stamps -- not enough to pay for the full asking price. I think that I need a lot of time to ponder my choices -- I'm still trying to decide on sets that retired a few years ago, lol.
My top picks from this catalog, and when I have some money I may actually buy them, are as follows:
Beautiful Banners -- I have the framelits and this seems like a nice match
Super Star -- Again, I have the framelits and this would work very well with those. I especially like the comic book style star and the radiating circle. You could also stamp "twinkle, twinkle" twice to make a complete circle for a baby card.
Wherever You Go -- just beautiful, and I love the "sunset" stamp
Summer Sorbet -- I find myself very drawn to the style of images in this set. It would be great for making wrapping paper
Of the in colors, my favorite is Dapper Denim, and I would consider adding it to my collection.
Of the continuing products, I really like Watermelon Wonder ink, and I'm seriously considering No Bones About It and Watercolor Wings.
Thankfully, I am lucky enough to have a huge stash already, so there's no hurry : ) In fact, if I didn't already have so much, my list might be much longer. And I'm trying to branch out to different companies too like Lawn Fawn, Mama Elephant, Waffle Flower and Avery Elle.

Beautiful, Inspiring catalog!
Love the "You can make it" pages with the recipe and item numbers.
FULL of card, and paper crafting samples!
SU always has beautiful color combinations, and lovely pattern papers!

My wish list is growing as I see more cards made with new stamps from the catty. I am growing to love Mint Macaron as well as the newest In Colors. Looks like I will buying these! I am SO IN TROUBLE! LOL
And from a Die-Hard wood mounted stamper - I love the photopolymer stamps and don't want to buy WM anymore. Actually, the rubber clear mount stamps don't interest me either!
