Hi. I thought there was a thread about this a little bit ago, but I can't find it through searching the forums.
I just got my 1st nesties. I am using the Big Kick machine. Based on the sandwich I'm supposed to use, it seems like I should cut/emboss first, then stamp the image, but I'm wondering is this what everyone finds to be the best way?
I've done it both ways. If I've stamped first, I hold my stamped image and the die cut up to a light so I can see where it's going to emboss/cut. But it's easier to cut first I think and then use your stamp-a-ma-jig to place your imgae where your want it.

Another cut first stamp second person. In fact while I have my machine out I usually cut as many Nesties (of what ever set I'm using) as I can from a sheet of cardstock. That way they are already there when I want to stamp.
I like to stamp first, then cut and emboss. I find it easier to position the image. I just center the image and use small pieces of blue painter's tape to hold the die in place.
I usually stamp, then cut, then colour my image. For me, I try to do it in this order because one time I stamped, coloured and everything was perfect and then I screwed up when I cut the image and was MAD ... live and learn.
I also stamp first and then cut. I find I can lay different dies over the image to see how it will look and fit and then decide which die to use. I can make a crooked image straight by putting it under the die!
Personally I prefer to cut after I stamp and colour so that I cut the image out just the way that I want. I find it more difficult to use a small cut image stamp on.. I just use a bit of low tack tape to hold the nestie exactly where I want it to be when I cut the image out.
I've found that I don't need tape to keep the nestie in position if I place the CS image on the B plate (Cuttlebug here) and then set the C plate straight down on top of it. If you slide the C plate on top of the sandwich rather than place it, the nestie will move out of position. Don't know if this makes sense, but doing it has made it a snap to get a perfectly centered images.
Now that I am using a Big Shot, rather than the Wizard, it is very easy to get a centered image without using tape. The two clear big shot plates have sort of a static cling almost. So I usually stamp, the cut, than color.

This is exactly what I do. I stamp, position nestie over image and hold with the tape. Then I'll color the image last if it needs coloring. This way I get the image exactly where I want it within the nestie shape.
Count me in with the stampers first. Maybe it's just me, but I can center a nestie every time - with centering stamps, not so much. I don't even find it necessary to hold my stamped image in place with any tape, guess I'm lucky that way. But either way, if I'm coloring, I definitely color last b/c you never know when something is going to be out of place.

 Well said! I know exactly what you're saying about coloring last....I NEVER flub cutting an uncolored image, but a colored image has a mind of it's own!
