Hi there, I am needing some ideas of some cute quick crafts that you can make with some grade ones and kindergarden kids. I have been asked to make this craft but it can't have anything to do with Santa. Any ideas?
Thank you

I'm looking for ideas for our township holiday party. In the past we did bookmarks with the calendar on the back, then laminated. Magnets on the one inch sq tiles (we put the magnets on for them using a glue gun) , cards using the wheels. The kids love the wheels and anything with stickles. Post it holders are good if your budget allows. We did a small card with a tea-bag inside.

I always do pipecleaner and bead ornaments with my young art class kids. Kindergarteners and/or 1st grade make a simple circle, 2nd grade makes a star, 3rd grade a cross, 4th grade a snowflake. Use sparkly pipcleaners and 8mm faceted beads. Clear beads let the color of the pipecleaner show through, but of course most kids choose the colored beads, which look great too. It's easy and gives a nice end product.

What about the ol' folded paper, cutting shapes, to make a snowflake craft. I always loved those when I was a kid. It is like magic when you open the paper and see your design.
Or, the kids in my pre-schooler's class last year made the cutest reindeer T-shirts using their foot and hand prints. It is a little more labor intensive and could be a bit messy but they were sooo cute. Ink up the bottom of the foot, excluding the toes, in brown ink or paint and have them step on the front middle of a white T-shirt. This will be the head/face of the reindeer. Then have them ink up their hands and put their handprint, one on each side of the top of the head. These will make the antlers. Use a dab of black ink/paint for the eyes and a dab of red ink/paint for the nose.
Okay, after I wrote this all out, is a reindeer too close of an association to Santa Claus?...anyway, hope you can use it.
Oriental trading has TONS of holiday craft kits perfect for kids. You can make photo frames, doorknob hangers, ornaments, you name it. They are CHEEP too IMO.
Good luck and have fun.
How 'bout a votive sleeve? Two longish rectangular pieces of vellum stapled or otherwise attached together at the short ends, and a festive image (stickers, drawings, stamped, etc.) on each side, then slip over a glass votive holder.
Jingle Bell snowmen ornaments! Sorry, I don't have a picture, but I have done these with 1st & 2nd graders and they came out quite well. Buy large bells - the round ones you get in the craft section (1 or 2 inch ones), a can of white spray paint, a package of pipe cleaners and a package of pompoms (the small size). You will also need white glue (a super tacky glue is best, glue gun is even better but only if you have two adults!), and markers (crayola or other washable type is fine). Ahead of time (long enough so they are completely dry, I usually do at least 24 hours), spray paint the bells white. With the split side down, have them use the markers to draw the faces on their "snowmen". Use the pipe cleaner and two pompoms to make earmuffs for the snowman & glue on. The pipe cleaner serves as both the earmuff piece & the hanger for the ornament.
Post a picture of whatever craft you use so we can all see the kids cute creations!
how about the thumbprint reindeer pictures! you could do on a domino and make into an ornament, they will always have it to see how small thier thumbprint was at that age.
