I am getting frustrated with my efforts.....or lack there of.
I am using Blossoms abound, and I want to use lilac lace as one of the colors. I don't care if I go lighter or darker with the other color at this point....but am not liking what I'm coming up with.
Could you give me some advice??? Should I stamp the darker color first and then the lighter color? Or vice versa??? And what complimentary color would you use??? White???
I also noticed that there is a little blossom stamp.....what would you use with that....a third color???
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just love this set, but don't know how to use it right.
Thanks,

Have you checked in the gallery to see all the different ideas floating around? I don't have that set , so that's the only help I can offer...
Good luck!
Hi Susan! Have you tried using one color for both the outline and the inside? You can stamp off - stamp the image on scratch paper first then on your cardstock (makes a lighter image) and then stamp the outline in the same color but stamp directly on the cardstockk (so it is a shade darker than the original). Lavender lace, and lovely lilac usually look pretty good together. I also usally stamp the lighter color for the image and the darker color for the outline. Does any of this make sense? Hope it helps!!
Part of the appeal to me of the two step stamping "stuff" is that they don't have to line up.
Once you do figure out how the stamps should line up, make a mark on top of each wood block on one of the edges (the same spot for both stamps) so that you know which way you should stamp each one.

I try to line up theimages when using 2 step stamp sets, but it actually looks better to me when they don't line up exactly. I guess that is just my style though - every body likes a different look. Happy stamping!

This is precisley what I do ... works lke a charm!
Plus the stamp-a-ma-jig helps line everything up if you want...
I just want to thank everyone for their help. I came home from work yesterday and and finished my project! Yeah. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig which helped keep all 14 pages consistant! You can't beat that thing!!!
I did end up using two different colors, because I liked the darker look. But like the idea of using one color and stamping off. Thanks Heather for your advice! Guess I just needed that extra encouragement that this board is all about! I would never be able to do the things I am doing had it not been for all the ideas and inspiration here at SCS
Thanks again.........
