Red face Need Fun Stampin Party Ideas

I joined a stamp club last year and my turn to host a party is coming up in June. This will be my first time hosting a party (I did a catalog party once) and it is also the last party for my club. I really want it to be a blast!! Does anyone have some fun ideas they can share that will make my party a BIG hit?

A couple I have are:

- A Bargain Blowout so guests can sell/trade sets and embellishments they no longer want
- Creative Corner so everyone can bring some of the fabulous things they have been making and show them off
- Trivia Questions (pertaining to past club party's and mini catalogs) on the door prize sheet, if the person gets the questions right they get an extra prize. I am going to order the little incentive stamps from my demo to use as prizes.
- All else fails, Margaritas!

Would love some more ideas if anyone has some to share! Thanks a bunch!

Mara

What a great idea to have something special with your friends! I like the idea of the Creative Corner where people can bring their creations. You could also suggest people bring creations that have used techniques they've learned in the club. I like the Trivia game idea too. You could also play something like name the stamps used in the cards people bring. One idea I've seen is to take a word (like Margarita maybe????) and get people to name a stamp set starting with each letter. They have 1 minute or 2 minutes, but not too long. So M-Many Merry Messages A-Artfully Asian, G-Give Thanks, etc.

I would suggest that, whatever you choose, you run it past your demo to make sure she's ok with it too. It did occur to me that your Bargain Blowout sell/trade idea could cut into your hostess benefits and your demos sales, so it might be better to organize something like that at a different time and not at the same time as your Stampin' Up party.

Let us know what you decide to do and how it goes!

The last party I had was very simple - just a stamp a stack but it went on for a long time, and we laughed and laughed and laughed. Why? I think the 3 bottles of red wine MIGHT have had something to do with it! lol

Whatever you do, have a blast!

The Creative Corner sounds like a lot of fun. Plus who doesn't like to show off their creations!!

Great suggestions, I like the naming as stamp set with each letter of a key word! Great suggestion! My demo is totally on board with the selling/trading of gently used sets. Has a few she would like to sell or trade, too.

If anyone else has any more suggestions, please keep them coming.
Thanks!

How about doing a card swap? You each make enough of the same cards for the other members. My stamp club ladies always enjoyed this. For some, it was their favorite part of club. We would start the club with the swaps. We would go one by one and pass them out. Everyone would ooh and aah over them and ask questions about how they made them.

You could also go with a theme like Mexican(margaritas!), Hawaiian, chocoholics, wine and cheese, etc. Ladies love a theme. You could even tie your card swaps into the theme.

The Creative Corner is a great idea. We are stampers and we love to see what other ideas our fellow stampers have come up with. Pretty much why SCS is so popular!

Good luck being hostess and let us know how it goes!

Kathleen
