Multiple layers of embossing -- help!

When you do several layers of embossing and then stamp onto that to make a cool tag or something, do you just sprinkle the next layer of powder onto the still warm previous layer, or do you versamark first each time?

You just keep layering it on the warm. It is still a little wet & will stick. You just have to be quick.

When I do this I re-apply the versamark and that gives me a very thick coat to emboss on. You still have to be quick! And, don't burn yourself!

I do one coat and let it cool, them push it into my versamark pad and do the next coat etc. I find I get thicker coats doing it that way.

Thanks for the help. I thought that I'd heard of it being done both ways, so I guess I'll try both and see which works best.
