So...we're relocating to the San Jose area in a few weeks. Is anyone from around there? What are some nice areas to look for homes or apartments? Most important, I need to find a new SU! rep!
YOOOOOHOOOOO! We'll be neighbors!!! In in San Francisco, but SJ is only a little over an hour away, so maybe we can get together... I hope you'll be happy here. Are you a WA native? It could be a huge change of lifestyle... Let me know if I can help.

Hi there....I live in Seaside which is about an hour south of San Jose and I'm also an SU demonstrator....would love to meet you. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you.
I live in Mountain View, just down the road from San Jose. I'm a Kentucky native and moved to this area about 6 years ago. It's a very nice place to live, though on the expensive side. (Esp. compared to Kentucky.)
Where you want to look for a place to live might depend a lot on where you will be working. Traffic here is a force to be reckoned with and it's wise to plan around the heavy commute traffic as much as possible.
Of course, you can be like my DH and live about 3 miles from work only to have your company MOVE a year later to far far away. Grrr. Now he has like an hour commute where before it was 5 minutes. But I digress.
Welcome to the neighborhood. Please let me know if I can help out with any info, etc.
P.S. My SU demo is in Redwood City and she's very nice. She's also an SCS'er!
Hi, everybody! I'm in Concord - about halfway between San Jose and Sacramento. I am an orphaned demo and would love to meet up with others in the same boat.
I live in San Jose! Have all my life! I live in the Cambrian area, two blocks from where my husband grew up and about 5 minutes from my childhood home where my parents still live. Don't know if schools are a factor for you, but that can affect where you want to look to live. It is a quite expensive city, but fabulous in that we are 1 hour from SF, and 30 minutes from the beach and redwoods.
I'd be happy to chat with you more if you want to PM me.
P.S. I am also a demo...

Hi Kirstin,
I live in San Jose in the Almaden Valley area. My husband and I live in a 2 bedroom apartment and really like the area we are living in. It is centrally located (close to grocery stores, the mall, freeway, etc). There are a lot of nice areas in San Jose. We found the apartment from this site: http://www.apartmentratings.com/rate/CA.html
The actual community we live in is Avalon at Foxchase. The Avalon Communities also has apartments all over the bay area. This link will take you directly to the community we are in, but you can also search for other areas: http://community.springstreet.com/cu...5101&sc=avalon
I am also an SU demonstrator (listed on the SU demo finder) feel free to email ([email protected]) or PM if you have any questions about the area or anything!
Hi Welcom to the Neighborhood we like to call the Bay Area.
I live in Fremont, which is part of what we call the East Bay. Where you will be working is an important factor in where you decide to live. Looks like someone already gave you a link to a site. Good like with your search!
And to everyone: apparently there's a lot of us out here, we should get together sometime!!

Yes, Welcome!! I live in Mountain View, pratically right next door! If you need a stamping buddy, let me know. There are several reps in the area, I found one through the SU web site. I also looked at the listed reps SU webpage to find one that had samples that I liked. As for a place to live, the website that Melissa listed is the same one we found our apartment through, and we love it here!
Hey Melissa - I live in Avalon at Creekside! What a world!
This is great, so many people from the Bay Area. I'm in Morgan Hill just south of San Jose. Born and raised in San Jose just outside of the Almaden area. Welcome!!
Hi! I don't think you will have any problems finding someone to support your habit... uh... hobby in the Bay Area! There are lots of demos here and I'm sure you will find someone that you click with and has what you are looking for.
Good luck with the move. It may take a while to get settled in, but once you know your way around a bit, you will love it (traffic aside). I live in Redwood City, and I really like my little neighborhood. Funny thing is... when I moved out here I lived/worked in Fremont, then I moved to Redwood City. My husband grew up in San Mateo. It probably took us three years to really stop shopping and haunting our old neighborhoods where we had become comfortable and get used to what was in our own neck of the woods. Strange how that works.
I know a while back Reindeer Trout had a thread going about SCS'ers in the Bay Area, but I don't think anything transpired... we really should get together and play sometime!!
Okay, as another Bay Area-er I've got to chime in. I'm in Walnut Creek (right next to Concord). Sorry, don't know a thing about San Jose, but you'll love it once you get over the shock of how expensive homes and gas are!!
If anyone organizes a Bay Area SCSers Get Together, count me in!!

This website is amazing! THank you for all the San Jose info...I'm so glad there are so many of you out there! I'll have to have a house warming party, or due to cost of living an apartment-in-the-getto-warming-party, once we get settled in!
