Default Most Bang for your Buck SU

Here's a twist on the $$$ saving post. What SU product gives you the most "Bang for your Buck"? This can be a stamp set or an accessory and please tell the different ways you use it.

Can't wait to hear the responses to this. It should be a fun post.

The first thing that came to mind was the versamark pad. You can do so much with it and it is a cheap item. That is all I can think of now. If I think of anything else I will be back.

Shapes and Shadows (duh!) because it is soooooo versatile! I am just so stinking in love with this set!

Ribbon! A little goes a LONG way! I have had my rolls for a while and can't even tell that they've been used!

CORD! Silver and gold cord last a lifetime!!

I love my VersaMark... I can use it for so much! And the ribbon!!! I've had several spools for 4+ years, and used them both for several different parties and my own personal use. They really last a LONG time.

Reinkers are another great bargain. You can do so many techniques with them, and of course the obvious... reink your pads.

Punches - you can use them again and again and again and... you get the idea!

Class Brass Templates - once again, you can use them over and over for lots of projects.

Don't know if that is what you were looking for, but those a few of my favs.

Default bang for your SU Buck

I'll have to agree with mamakimberly. I do think that our ribbon is definitely one of those items. You get a lot for your buck and the quality is the best. I have gone to craft stores and can't even find the same width let alone a whole roll of it. You have to buy it by the yard.

Oh I know the "stampin' spots" too. You can do a lot of different things with them.

Happy Stamping,

Here is an example of what I'm looking for:

The versamark pad because you can use it for heat embossing, tone on tone stamping and you can chalk over it for a cool look.

I'm Here set because you can use it for baby announcements and scrapbook pages both for baby and children (think fingerpainting) and also you can use the new small round or square punch to punch out the letters (the letter part is not my original idea - got it from another post)

I keep finding new uses for my good ol' Fresh Flowers set. The bunny face using the leaf and dragonfly brought that set to the top of my stack again!

Most versatile product - Versa Mark pad. Embossing, tone on tone, Heat and stick, Resist, Pastels. My first purchase was a VM pad.

Second most versatile - White organdy ribbon. Tons of it and if you lay it across the SU ink pads and drag it across under a sponge you have all 48 colors of ink, paper and ribbon.

Don't have a fav stamp set. I love them all!

I agree about the Versamark, though the Stampin' Spots have to be a close second:

great for when you're "on the go"
great for DTP
great for inking up small places on parts of stamps (think 3 different colored dots on Fun With Shapes)
customers can get ALL the colors for under $90
well they're just so darned cute!

While I don't own this set here's one that I see a lot of ideas in.

The Vegetable Garden set. I see a flying bug using the pea pod and either the radish top or carrot top for wings or leave off the wings and draw in legs. The radish could make a balloon for a birthday card or SB page draw in string free hand. The tomato could be a baby face with the leaves for hair. You would need to draw in the face. The peas could be used to stamp letters in. Make a stemmed drinking glass using the corn husk and the pea pod for the base (omitting the stem part by using the pick and omit technique). I'm sure there are more. Some more obvious is using the peas or corn kernels and stems and leaves for backgrounds.

I love the Pocket fun set, can be used for boy or girl cards and even adult ones if you use the flowers!!

the Vellum goes a long way too when doing things, and also Eyelets!! All the great colors to chose from and just a few on a page gives that page an awesome "zip" to it!!

the new Alphabits set and punches. At my stampers 10 club this month, I offered single stamps from the set for $3.75 + s&h. I had a sign up sheet, and sold 3 sets and about 6 punches! That's only about $10 for an alphabet set and funky way to use it right away. Too bad the punches are all back ordered!

I would have to agree with the gold and silver cording. I have had mine for about 4 years, and I don't skrimp, and they are both going strong! Maybe they're magic?!

And Itty Bitty Backgrounds! Use them all of the time.

Last but not least are the Stampin' Dimensionals....

This month, I'd have to say the new Sincere Salutations stamp set - it's selling for half off during March, so it's only 9.98 US for 8 greetings that can be used on most any card.

Default A Greeting for All Reasons

I don't really see anyone mention this set too often, but I love A Greeting for all Reasons. It really is perfect for a quick card for so many occassions. It gives you a few greetings and a few icons all at once. It was one of my first SU purchases and still often used.

Hate to break it to you, but that's not allowed, by SU rules (to sell individual stamps).

Sorry :(

I love the aqua painters. They never dry out and you can use them again, and again, and again. Also love putting bleach in them, floor wax, using them with watercolor pencils!

The price is comprable to local stores and CTMH, too.

I totally agree about the Versamark.

The stamp set I come back to over and over again is Mini Mates. It has a great selection of images and sentiments. It can also be used for men/women/kids. You can use it with stamp pads or markers. One of my all time favorite sets.

My favorite versatile stamp set is Simply Circles. You can use the circles to create interesting backgrounds, use the solid circles as shadow stamps, use the circle outlines as frames around letters, all sorts of different things! Best set I ever bought as I use it for both cards and scrapbooks.

Great post!

Ribbon, there is a TON of it on the spool!
Cardstock, only about 20 cents a sheet.
Stamps, get more for your money!

I'd say the All Natural stamp set. You can make masculine or feminine cards, and although the text stamp says "thank you" the images can be used for almost any occasion and match well with many different font styles.

I am hooked on the tag sheets! And, I just read a suggestion about laminating the 'skeleton' sheet once the tags are punched out to use as a template!! Love it!!!!!!!!! And, I have to say, the ribbon is a GREAT deal, that spool is just never ending!!!!

What about the blender pens. They can be all 48 colors. Use them with the Stampin' Spots. What a great deal!

The 48 colors of paper!! I have not come across any paper that is dyed all the way thru, and is 80 pound weight for that price.

I have to agree with Versamark--it's one of the best! But I would also add the blender pens. You can use them with ink pads to color in instead of buying all the markers, or you can use them to blend a stamped image or something colored in with pencils. You can also use them with chalks, pearl-ex powder, and bleach. I'm sure there are other uses I'm forgetting, but you get the idea.

As for stamp sets, it's hard to choose, but Sketch an Event is one I go back to again and again.

OK-dug out my Fresh Flowers set and trying to make with the bunny, but not getting the dragonfly... :? It'll be SO obvious when you explain it, but it's been a long day.

Oh-BTW- I think the Stampin' Pastels are pretty versatile.Glad this was posted, 'cause i just had a customer ask which would be better for just starting out stamping- chalks or markers.

I'm big fan of glossy paper -- I have made a lot of WOW cards with really cool techniques including Versamark resist, wax paper resist, polished stone, crayon resist. . . shall I go on? They're always so impressive, people can't believe I made them!
