I have spent about 1.5 hours searching online for the directions to the box I saw on Pinterest that holds the 4oz., plus lid, coffee cup. I think I have a source for buying the cups and lids. Have you seen the box that I am talking about and if so has anyone seen the directions for making the box? Love the whole idea for the coffee cups and box for Christmas goodies. I can see putting mini cookies, M&Ms and lots of different kinds of candies for the holidays.
I found the directions for making one box but the box has a handle and I would like the box to close flat so i can add a bow and decoration.
I might be making this more difficult than it needs to be and perhaps could make a box with the correct dimensions but I don't want to order the coffee cups until I am sure that I can make the box.
Thank you for responding to my request. I found these directions but when I found the measurements for the box and found the site that gave the measurements for the cup with the lid it seemed like the cups with the lids wouldn't fit in that box.
I might order the cups with the lids and take the chance that they work. Am I making any sense at all!
Hi,
I used the directions from the link above and alas it is big enough for the cup. I made changes and did not use the envelope punch board to make it. I like how it turned out so now there are two ways that the box can be done. Thanks again for your suggestions.
OK, I admit it, I am 3-D challenged...I have to literally move furniture in a room to see if I like a rearrangement! When I followed the directions for the single cup box, using the envelope punch board as indicated, I wound up with 4 folds inside the box. I adhered them to two sides. That left the 4 tops. Do we fold down 2 to cover the inside folds? leave them to be secured with a bow or other closure? The last direction was to "fold" so I'm not sure how this is to look inside. I also wondered how to die cut the window shown - I have a cuttlebug. I also wondered why there was a piece of dp on the side of the finished box in the pic - decorative or other function? Any simple insight for this 3-D challenged person will be so appreciated. I already have the cups/lids/pattern to cover the cup. Thanks, Diane
Oh my Dear girl,
I love doing 3-D projects and also have felt as frustrated with projects. I don't believe you are off base at all following the direction the box comes out exactly as you described. There is a lot of extra paper folded on the inside of the box. I changed that by cutting all that paper off and making tab to glue the sides. Now I don't know that this will make sense and I am a not ampro with the English language so don't critizize yourself for not being able to figure that out. I also didn't know how to finish the top off so I am still thing about that. You can't use a cuttlebug to cut the window. My machine is not wide enough she has done it with a punch, I think. It is very generous for her to share her directions with us and it is a very nice design but sometimes it is helpful to change something to effect the outcome. Feel free to send me a PM if you would like continued help with the box. As for the DP on the inside of the bias that is to look pretty and also is function for holding down the extra paper on the inside. Good luck with your work and playtime with this.
PS I just got my coffee cups in the mail yesterday.
Thanks, TTB, for your support. I have searched online for some tutorials and think I can handle the issues better now. I hope that a new cricut cartridge will emerge that has these boxes! Until then, I will try so that I have something cute as a holiday favor for a family dinner. Diane
