When will the next mini catalog be released? I'm assuming it'll be a holiday/Christmas catty, yes?
Is there a schedule for the mini catty releases? I'm assuming the other two will be SAB and a spring mini?
Can anyone give more details? Like, when can the demos start ordering from it? (and therefore we will start seeing samples on SCS) And, probably most importantly, has anyone posted the mini (link or pdf) on SCS? No patience here!

1. Demonstrators get to pre-order from the mini on August 1
2. We are not supposed to link the catalog until Sept 1, sorry :(
Awesome! Do demonstrators get a price discount on the mini catalog pre-orders? If so, this might encourage some would-be demos.
Nothing other than our ordinary 20% discount. Last SU year we also got an additional 20% on pre-orders in honor of Stampin' Up!s 20th Anniversary. On the other hand, for the Holiday Mini, if we pre-order $75 or more in stamps from the mini, then we can purchase a specific pre-order set for $5 (vs the $29.95 list price)
Of course the other benefit of being a demonstrator is that for the last week we've been able to drool and dream over the great new stamps and accessories in the Holiday Mini and will get our hands on the items a month before customers- so that we can create all of our great samples for you!
BTW, with the $85 mini starter set promo or the free In Color promo going on now, there is no better time to become a SU demonstrator!

Does it have to be "in stamps"? There are so many new items coming out in the Holiday Mini, that one would think it shouldn't matter that it be stamps or other merchandise.
Yes, it has to be in stamps. I'll tell you...this mini will knock your socks off! There is definately something for everyone....I can't remember the "rules" on what we can say, but believe me, it's there. Scrapbooker, stampers, home decor, jewelry, alterables, kids, holiday...everything!!!! I'm going on 5 years (August 24th!) as a demo and this is by far the most comprehensive mini ever!
I think everyone will just love the new Holiday Mini - More stamps, paper, embellishments more pages to the mini!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Super exciting.
Those of you thinking about becoming a demo - now is a great time. Don't forget the promotion already going on with the Starter Kit!!!
And you can preorder from the Holiday mini too.
It's a great company and you can earn money for you family while doing what you love!
When is the preorder period? Does the preorder count as the first $150 order that is 30% off, or can that order be placed after the holiday preorder? or jointly with IBC merchandise? Do preorders count toward hostess rewards if the order is large enough?

Sorry for asking what may be a very silly question but what is IBC merchandise.
Another question was there was someone that mentioned that if you spent $75 you could order another stamp set up to $30 for $5. What are the Canadian numbers and would that be $75 before our 30% or after? (Hope that made sense!) ;)
IBC= Idea Book and Catalog.
The $75 is in stamps from the mini, then you can purchase the Sweet Centers (also in the mini) for $5.
Not sure what the CAN numbers are, someone else will have to answer that!
The 30% is taken off of your first order (and I think it must be $150 or more).
I only have one downline, so I think I have all this info correct...if not, will someone please correct me!

Well, there is a link out there to the Holiday Mini Catty now and they do have some cute stuff...some other stuff I kind of question but that's just my personal taste.
VERY tempting to become a demo now...I mean there's the hostess specials in the Mini Catty, plus the $5 stamp set if you spend X number of dollars in stamps from the Mini Catty (still not sure of that number yet in CDN $$$...) Which stamp set is it that you can get for $5? PLUS the 30% off my first order...CRAZY!!!!!
OMG, my head is just spinning- I can't sign up until next week (if I do). Bought myself a fancy purse a couple of weeks ago and promised my hubby that I wouldn't buy ANYTHING else til the beginning of August...and it's killing me!!!!!

Interesting, but not surprising I guess. Some demos just won't follow the rules.

I don't necessarily think that the Demo's aren't following the rules...I know that the naming convention for the SU Catty's URL's are pretty simple to figure out (if you know what to look for) so after a couple of tries, you can hit the jackpot. I won't lie, I've done it myself but have NEVER posted the link. (I'm not brave enough to cheese off SU!)

Thanks for your reply.;)
Not pointing a finger at you, but I guess there are always gonna be people who think they can do whatever they want, to get what they want.

I freely admit I am a VERY curious person and love to see the catties as soon as possible. But I would defintely not have the guts to put the links up (I really have a very big guilt complex when it comes to doing something bad- so it's easier for me to try and stay on the straight and narrow). But you are right- people will do what they want even if it breaks the rules. That being said I would never judge someone else for posting the link.
Maybe this is a different perspective (as a customer on the outside looking in) but perhaps SU should be somewhat flattered to see the lengths people go to to see their stuff. :-D
I'm not a Demo (but I may sign up soon) and perhaps I don't understand the whole "secrecy" thing when it comes to catty releases but I don't see the harm in people getting sneek peaks. If anything, it gives people time to write up wish lists, put their orders together, etc, etc, etc.
I sincerely hope that I don't offend any Demos (I swear that's not my intention at all) and if someone explained to me the whole thought process behind the secrecy of catty releases, I may then understand the reasoning why this is such a big deal (so to speak).

Here's the Canadian numbers: the demonstrator pre-order special is to spend $95 in stamp sets only and purchase the Sweet Centres set for $7.

Remember this is for demos only during the demo preorder not a promotion for customers. (US spend $75 from mini get set for $5 or Canadians as above).
I just don't want any customers to get upset if they try to order this special. I know some were disappointed that the demo only discounted preorder for the InColors wasn't extended to customers.

As a former "just a hobby" demo and never really too much into the business stuff, I will attempt to answer why I think most serious business demos don't like sneak peeks.
I think the biggest concern is that customers will hold off on making purchases until they can buy from the mini. They don't want to screw up their numbers or their selling potential because customers are saving their $$ for the next big thing. They want to be able to sell what they have now. It's sort of like competing against themselves... does that make any sense??
I never get the big secrecy stuff either. Wasn't it a fun tradition for awhile there for demos to post "messy desk" pictures?! When I first saw that term, I didn't really know what they were talking about. But... demos would take a photo of a messy work area with lots of stuff laying around (we all know what that looks like!!) and tucked in here and there would be pages of the catalog laying open, samples, etc. I thought that was so much fun!!
When I became a demo, I applied for access to the "demo side" of SCS and it was loads of fun and very helpful. The demos here are wonderful. When I discontinued as a demo, it never occurred to me to actively do something about the demo side. Most of the time, I simply scrolled right past it. If I saw something interesting, I had a look, but never posted or participated in conversations there. If I saw something confidential to demos -- I DID NOT ever pass it along, link it or anything else. I guess you could say I was on my own honor system. At some point, the demo side disappeared. No biggie. It was kind of fun to see the stuff ahead of time and I really felt that as long as I respected the information, it shouldn't make a bit of difference. I assume someone knew I wasn't a demo and noticed I had access and took care of it. Really - I never gave it much thought.
So... the other day when a demo friend sent me a .pdf of the mini - I didn't try to pass it along to anyone. Then this past weekend, my demo had the physical catalog at her open house. (What is it about the actual paper in your hands anyway LOL!?! It's always even better!) So... if demos are showing it to customers, is there really any more secrecy?? Seems to me that by showing the catalog publicly, we should now be free to discuss whatever we want from it. I'm not a demo so I have no SU rules to follow.
Any demos have an opinion about this?? Now that it's "out there" should we be able to talk about it??
I just found this link on another page and thought I'd share since I'm not a SU demo. It's the site for the SU mini catalog for 2009-2010. You will have to copy and paste it.
