At least, if you're in Washington Idaho or Montana I think she said. It's an experiment where they are putting just a coupon in the paper...no flyer and no items on sale in the store other than the normal clearance stuff.
THIS SUCKS! I think it's just so wrong that people in the rest of the country can buy something say, at 25% off, but pay full price for the same item here. How fair is that? I'm gonna write a letter.....

I think actions speak louder than words in situations like this. If enough people decide they don't like the new "policy" and don't go to the store, the pilot hopefully will fail and they'll go back to the way that was successful (or find something else successful). I'd shop online instead of going to the store I was unhappy with. Enough people do that, and they will be forced to change. Oh, and write a letter letting them know it. Great idea there!
Well, I live in WA and I don't get the paper. I get the Ms ad flyer as an insert with grocery ads, etc. in my mailbox. I wonder, are they not doing that any more? If so, I'll never have a coupon and would be less likely to go in there especially when JoAnns - who I would think is their main competition - sends coupons to me, both directly and from those flyers.
If they are only putting a coupon in the paper, it won't get to a lot of people. We read our news online.
I'll be interested to see if the flyers in the mailbox ads stop.

I don't get either, -no ads, no flyer.
I get the online one sent to me, I will have to see if it still comes.
I haven't been all that impressed with the Michaels or Joanns in our area lately.....
It would be cheaper for them...not having to mark as much stuff down, since you would only get one item on sale per flyer/coupon. But, at what price, losing customers? Not a good move in my eyes, unless they are lowering prices across the board to eliminate the need for sales.(Yeah, right!)
Once business falls, they will see the error of their ways...
Interesting. I was just there last night and couldn't even find any clearance stuff worth buying. There was a lot of hype about everything that was being eliminated because of the new Martha Stewart line, but a "sale" of $19 from an original price of $19.99 doesn't quite do it for me.
Their clearance bins are such a jumble -- at least at my local store -- that things are in pretty bad shape and not worth spending even a buck. Plus, I've gotten dried up glue and paints. Why would they even put something like that in? And this is supposed to be the "upscale" store over JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby. (See the Martha Stewart article if you wonder what I'm talking about.)
I wonder if the other stores will follow suit?
BTW, I spent all of $2 there yesterday. But they were full priced items. LOL
This is why I LOVE my LSS!!! They are awesome!!! The LSS here in Princeton holds sales, but their prices are low anyway. They will get you anything you want if you ask and they show you how to use things. I LOVE PAPERCHASE- our LSS in Princeton. Plus these ladies are FULL of ideas!

I think that if they do only offer a coupon then we should be able to use it on anything in the store, like the cricut, martha stewart stuff, and everything else they won't let you use a coupon on.

You know us gals in the rural have been fighting this same problem for years. We don't get the flyers or the newspaper out in the rural areas so we never get the coupons. I was so happy with Mike's when they would let us just sign that paper and then get the 40% off. Linen & Things have never changed if you don't have the coupon you don't get the % off. That really sucks. Very unfair.
