I was surprized to read on a receipt from Michaels that they are changing their "return" policy on May 4.
Here's what it says:
"Dear Valued Customer:
Effective May 4, 2008, our policy for no receipt returns is:
No refunds will be given on seasonal and clearance merchandise. For everyday merchandise returned without a receipt, a merchandise credit will be issued based on the promotional price or everyday price less 20%."
Just a heads up for you....Make sure if you give a gift from Michaels, keep the receipt just in case your recipient needs to return it, or they will be "stiffed" 20%!
Things are getting tough all around, huh!

I think it's fair. Think about how many people must get something 40% off, then return it for full price, get in store credit so they can use a coupon again.
The last time I returned something to hobby lobby they gave me the sale price since it was on sale within the last so many days...It's 30 I think...I don't know it may be more than that.
I agree, I think it is fair--so many people take advantage that they need to do something to protect themselves--I would rather they do this than stop the 40% coupons.

I'm not sure where someone is getting the policy for returning to AC Moore. Unless it is different in other parts of the country, my very recent receipt states the following.....
Without Original Receipt:
Technology items will be exchanged for the same item only
Must be in original package and in its original condition
We will refund the lowest sale prie within the last 60 days
Refunds will be made in the form of an AC Moore Refund Card only
Exclusions:
Special orders, custom floral arrangements, custom framed art or other custom orders are not refundable
Class are non-refundable (see Wilton class instructions for specific details)
