I was out scoring some ATG refills yesterday and I noticed a sign on the door of Michaels saying that they were now accepting mobile coupons.
I didn't print any this week, so I asked the cashier about the mobile ones since I get them via email. She said to open the link and SHE SCANNED MY PHONE!!!! Totally cool. No more wasting paper and ink. No more forgetting my coupons. Just whip out the ole' phone and beep, coupon scanned. Evidently, any store that has the new scanners (dark grey instead of the boxy tan ones) can do it.
Sorry, it takes very little to facinate me, LOL~
Just thought I'd add...if they don't have the scanner, they just manually enter the e-code.
I love that they are finally doing this. I always thought if they truly were trying to go green they wouldn't make us print coupons at all, with exception of those who don't have PDA's.
hmm, that means I'll have to forward those coupon emails to the email that I do use on my phone lol. The hotmail account is the catch all and can have 100 or so emails daily lol

You should just be able to go to their website and see the link...it's on their front page. I found these last month, but I haven't tried the system out yet...looks way cool, though!
Do you think I could take a picture of the coupon with my iPod that they could scan? I don't have internet on my cell phone.

for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.
(borrowed from the quirkey card sayings thread).
Just so you know, depending on what screen covering you use (I have an OtterBox) they may not be able to scan it. You have to tell them to key it in instead. Depending on the cashier they may not know this.

I do not have a smartphone so I took a picture of the coupon screen with my iPod but the clerk at JoAnn/Michael's would not accept the coupon this way. Sorry, can't remember which store. The clerk said they do not accept photos. This might just be this store so just beware and have a paper copy handy the first time you try to use a electronic photo of a coupon.
Technically, taking a photo of a coupon wouldn't be considered valid at Michaels. I'm a manager there. I found the best way is the Michaels app. It's free. On my phone it is easier to pull that up than pulling up the email or website. We only accept one coupon per person per day, but you can use your e coupon everyday throughout the week.

You can sign up the email account that is on your phone to get coupons sent to it. The cashiers are able to put it in the sysytem or you can go to michaels.com and sign up.
