At my local Michael's you can "sign for the coupon". If I forget or don't have a coupon I just tell the cashier and she/he writes it down on their log sheet and I sign my name and I get the discount of the week. That's how I got my Cuttlebug at 50% off! I don't know if it's like that at all Michael stores but it would be worth asking about, especially if you don't have a coupon with you and you find something that you just gotta have!

I just did this the other day --I was with a friend & we were checking out. I said "Oh shoot, I forgot my coupon". The cashier overheard me & said "I can give you the discount --you just need to sign something." I knew I'd read on here that some stores do that if you ask--never thought it would just be offered to me!! LOL!! Cashier was sooo sweet --why can't they all be like that??
I'll see if our local Michael's will do that. I never get the Michael's ads with the coupons in our newspaper, but my friend who lives 5 miles from me in a different town does - go figure. I'm hoping that in my case they should give the discount.
No signing here and you can only get the coupon in the newspaper if you subscribe to the paper. The papers you buy individually don't have them in there.
I specifically got up early this morning to get a paper and no Michael's coupon! :( That's the second week in a row. I may have to break down and go without one...

My Michaels allows this. I would not be a happy camper otherwise. I don't get any flyers, therefore I would not be able to use a coupon. So, I hope that our Michaels doesn't start to not let you sign.
The 50% off coupon was a couple of weeks ago - right before MLK Jr. Day. They had extended the sale a week due to bad weather somewhere (fortunately NOT in Minnesota). No ad this week though.

AND, our Michaels lets you use TWO coupons on a trip. They take out their book and you have to sign for using the second coupon but I do that now. Oh and if you do this, tell them right away you have the second because it really bugs them if you don't. Bug my brother or sister (sometimes both) for coupons if I didn't get one in a paper. Never tried the 'forgot my coupon' thing, but I'm gong to check that out. Mary
If they don't have the paper for you to sign, I'd call the corporate office and complain. It IS a corporate store and they are all supposed to be handling the coupons the same way. Just ask for the store # and manager's name, so you have something to tell them when you call.
I used to work there and this kind of thing was a huge problem back then. Not all mangers were doing what they were supposed to and/or the district manager was giving them wrong info.
