Default metallic ink pads

Hi!

I'm in need of some advice please! I have the ColorBox MetalExtra gold & silver ink pads & the color never actually dries completely. I stamped with them about 2 or 3 days ago & I can still smudge them! I went out today looking for better ink pads--I found the PearlEx pads--they say that they are "permanent on every surface". I'd like to know if anyone else has used these & what your experience is before I open them.

Thank you for your help!!

I am so sorry I can't help you but I see you found PearlEx pads? I have to know more about these! I love PearlEx! Sounds like it is like Stazon - permanent on every surface.
Good luck

Colorbox is regular pigment ink, and I've had the same experience as you--it never dries. I just emboss it. For metallics that will dry quickly, I use brilliance ink. Love it!

I bought a pearlex pad once and it dried out super fast. The company recommends you buy the reinker at the same time. My brilliance pads are hanging in there still juicy.

I was given a few PearlEx pads but don't use them much as I find they aren't very 'bright' except on black paper/card. I find the Brilliance pads much better and use them all the time, except for the Brilliance Gold, which isn't so good. My favourite gold metallic is the Encore pad.

Love Brilliance! They dry nicely except on glossy paper -I give them a shot of air from my heat gun and then I know it's dry on that surface, too!

Don't know if this will help much but, I do have one of the Pearl Ex interference pads (don't know if this is the same as the regular Pearl Ex pads??) and I'm not crazy about it at all and hardly ever use it. I just think it's dull in color, doesn't wow me like I thought it would (I have the powders and love them). However, I have LOTS of the Brilliance pads and love them - they are awesome, and especially the metallics, for all the reasons that others have already stated. And I agree with you and others about the Colorbox metalics - I never use mine anymore since finding the Brilliance pads.

Thanks Ladies! You're all such great help as always! I'm back to the store to return my PearlEx pads for Brilliance pads--I hope they have them!
