memo cube refills or glue to make them?
One of my go-to teacher gifts is to take a plain white cube of memo-cube refill and stamp the outside (the cubes are not loose paper). My stash is gone and I cannot find them online.
Does anyone have a source for purchasing these?
OR, if I got get a ream of paper cut, how do I go about binding them into cube - what glue do I use?
Oriental Trading does not carry those paper cubes anymore. I wrote and they said they had no plans on them returning. So at this point I am like you, no source. Wish I could help because I need some too. They really are cute gifts aren't they?
Don't know why it says anything about being made from acrylic-- it looks like paper to me.
I can't tell from the picture, but I bet it's like the memo cubes I got at Staples - an acrylic box with paper inside, and the paper is loose.
OP, the type of glue you want is called "padding compound". I've used Tacky glue and it works, but for a thick pad like you want, the padding compound works better. You apply it with a paint brush. The stuff I used is red, but I checked Amazon and they have it in clear - but don't buy the kind that's called "Fan Apart" for NCR forms. Also, in order for it to make nice pads, you'll need some sort of setup to clamp the paper pad together so you can brush on the padding compound and let it dry; I used binder clips, but those won't hold a thick enough pad for what you're doing. I'd check with your office supply place and see what they can do for you
I have taken a ream of paper into office supply store. they will cut and paste the one side. I also had a cardboard top and bottom on it...that way I could decorate the top.
PTI just posted a video - it's a note pad rather than a note cube, but this just might work for the note cube - they used scor-tape (and don't get Mrs. Noofy going LOL - she's not a fan of this tape, but I love it - it's also called Sookwang tape):
You can check out the PTI video here if you're interested:

That is what has stopped me from just getting paper cut at the local office supply store. I don't know what glue to use to make my own cubes.
Yes, they can do that. The store I used did an EXCELLENT job, it was years ago.
Funny story, I made them for a teacher's aid, Mrs. Judy. She was so sweet. She brought it home and showed her husband. He was like, "I made that" She said no, he said yes. Turns out, he was the guy in the print shop! I just love stories like that.
