What do you think the 64 alphabet die font sets means?
I had asked this question to the seller:
"Do you mean there are 64 different, complete alphabet fonts in this set? Or, is it one alphabet contained on 64 dies?"
And they responded:
"64 DIFFERENT..THANKS"
I didn't get what I was expecting and I"m wondering if I interpreted this incorrectly.
I"d like to hear other's opinions before writing to this person.
Thank you very much.
Karen
I would have expected 64 separate dies each with a letter on it.
She wasn't very descriptive in both the listing and her answer.
If you received this and feel that it isn't what you were expecting, I would ask to return it. If she refuses, I would suggest you consider disputing it via Paypal.
Because you asked specifically if there were "64 different, complete alphabet fonts OR one alphabet with 64 dies", and she answered "Different", I would have expected 64 fonts. I have no idea what you paid, so it's difficult to judge from that viewpoint what I would have expected. It could change things in my head if it were a low price. If it was really high, then I would have expected 64 different alphabet fonts. I agree with the previous poster about disputing it if you think you were ripped off...
I recently won this lot on Ebay. Quickutz Binder and 64 Alphabet Die Font Sets | eBay

I would expect to get 64 dies each with a single letter or an uppercase & lowercase of the same letter. But mostly I'm going by the picture and a knowledge of Quickcut dies.
However, 64 seems an odd number. One complete alphabet in upper and lower case with one letter per die gives you 52 dies. Add 10 digits, one per die, would give you a total of 62 dies rather than 64 unless there is also 2 for punctuation.
Your response from the seller certainly wasn't useful.
"alphabet die font sets" would make me think that you were getting 64 different fonts, each a complete set of the alphabet.
Which would be pretty extraordinary for that price, so I think your question was very appropriate. And by the wording of your question, and her reply, I would expect exactly that: 64 different font sets. But in one binder. . . 64 x 26? or 64 x 52? Well that just couldn't be. Unless some are in a box or loose and not contained in the binder.
I suspect you received 64 individual dies - hopefully at least a full set for one alphabet, one font.
And her answer was inadequate. She needed to give you a better description. I would have written to her again and been even more specific.
Ok, as Sue said above, I was expecting 64 alphabet font sets. I thought (and was hoping) I got an absolute steal at, what, 35 bucks???? I am familiar with the product and knew the dies usually contain one to four letters per 2x2 die. But I thought I phrased my question in a way to ascertain that and because she or he said "different," that too makes me think there should be 64 complete alphabets, each in a different font. It's interesting that there are differing opinions here. I"m not sure what to do now. If you all thought what I thought I would definitely say something...
Anyway, thanks for the input, I really appreciate it!

Oh, I definitely also thought her answer of "different" to your question meant that you should have received 64 different font sets - and it would have been an amazing deal (which is not unheard of on ebay!). I think you were misled by her answer.
I'm curious though -- even though it was just one font, one alphabet, is that still a good price?? I hope that even if it wasn't the deal of the year, you at least got a bargain.
My interpretation from her phrasing of 64 "font sets" is that it should be 64 different typefaces with a full set for each.
But looking at the photos I think it's probably just one alphabet.
Her description in the listing is certainly very poor.
It sounds like the listing should have been for a 64-die alphabet font set, not a 64 alphabet die font set. Even that is an awkward title (trying to squeeze too many keywords into the item name).
Even though the answer could lead you to believe that there were 64 different sets, I would have expected just one alphabet sent (upper, lower, numbers, and maybe a few symbols) because of the price. Sometimes you can find great deals on Ebay, but for the most part it's pretty realistic. But if you're not happy then just ask to return it - or relist it.
From the listing alone, I would have expected 64 dies. The wording was off, that's for sure. At first I thought maybe the seller did not know the difference between a letter and a font but after reading their feedback and seeing the crafty things that have been sold, I think they know the difference.

no proper description, but from the pictures I would expect 64 little dies with 1 letter on each.
I don't think 64 fonts would fit in that binder
My experience with ebay - I read everything very carefully and don't bid if I'm not sure what exactly do they mean.. some people sell stuff they got from estate sales or after a deceased relative and they have no idea what it is...
