I have the SU markers too and they SURE are worth the money! I have tried the Le plume ones and they are ok but are not a great as the SU ones in my opinion
SU! are well worth the money, they are awesome, no comparison at all to the LePlume ones. I had the LePlume ones first, then I tried my demo's SU! markers and I ended up giving the LePlume ones away. I say go for the best!
Hate to jump on this expensive bandwagon, but it's true: SU markers are *so* worth it. Just like having the cardstock and ink that match, you'll totally want the markers.
Now, that said, you can also get by for a looong time with your ink pads and the blender pens. You could also buy sets of markers and just have ink pads in the colors you use most. So, there are ways of saving a little money in the process!
I use my markers a lot for coloring stamps, coloring images, and signing cards in a matching ink!
I bought two big packs of LePlume markers at ACMoore because of the coupons. Problem is that they dried up REALLY quickly. I've been buying Stampin Up's markers, a few each order, and they really are better.

When I started stamping I bought some of the LePlume markers. I have never really cared for the side of their "brush" end. It was HUGE, and hard to control where you were coloring. They also seemed to dry out quickly, but this was back before I was smart enough to store them laying flat so that could be my own fault! I pretty much just stopped using them because I just kept getting frustrated with my results.
I bought the entire set of SU! markers about six months ago (got an AWESOME deal on ebay) and have never regretted it. I still don't use them a whole lot, but more than I had been and everything has turned out very nice.
I love my SU markers. They are well worth the investment. I bought mine 2 years ago and all still work beautifully. I also got a couple sets of the LePlume ones first and hated them. Just did not like how they performed. It seemed the flow of ink on fine-tiped end was skippy and had that hard feel to it when writing.
I seem to use my SU markers every time I stamp. And what I also like is, I have every SU color at my finger tips. The SU set allows me to play with those rarely used colors as I want without investing in rarely used ink pads.
Go with the SU markers. You won't regret it.

I have the SU and the Tonbow/Tombow markers and apart from the fact that I like SU markers because they match the card I can't really tell the difference. Over here Tombow cost like $5 each but because I demo in a store I have to have the markers that they sell so I have bought them slowly.
But it means my SU markers are just for me and so I take really good care of them as they were so expensive, but they are a must have item in my book.
I'm in the SU category as well after trying several other types and not liking them as much. Plus you have to love getting all the matching colors. You can use them like watercolor by scribbling them on plastic transparency or anything like it and pick up the color with blender pen, wet brush, aquapainter. Just for an added bonus of use.
I just got the entire set of SU markers & I love them!!! They are great for coloring on the Alphabet Soup set, in fact I just made a birthday card today with them. Love them love them love them!!!!
BUT --there isn't much stamping related stuff that I've bought that I haven't loved!! LOL!!
The SU! markers are well worth the money ... I used LePlume and Marvy before getting my SU set .. they dried out REALLY fast. I've had my SU! markers for two years and they are as great as the first day I used them! Plus they match my other stuff perfectly of course. :-D
I have a question about markers? What is the best way to store them?
Double-tipped markers should be stored horizontally, so that the ink does not pool in one end. The full-size SU! marker case is designed to keep them this way.

SU markers are imo the only way to go! Not only do they coordinate perfectly, but they use the same re-inkers as the stamp pads, so as long as the ends don't get bad, you can keep them for a LONG time!
How do you re ink the small end of the SU markers??
I was told that you can re-ink the marker by carefully removing the brush tip with tweezers and putting a few drops into the barrel, which supplies ink to both ends.

I just got my last color family...I bought mine in a marker club so I could break down the price...
I did not know about being able to re ink them...I just figured that I would replace a couple at a time as needed if I had too...I titally love mine...so easy to work with...

I didn't know you could re-ink them either! I'm kinda lazy ... I'll probably just buy new ones when they run out ... ha ha!

Considering how long they last before the ink starts to run out, this is probably the better option anyway -- it's only $3, and the marker will probably be about to wear out before it dries out!
