I will be mailing a birthday card to a friend in Belgium. Does anyone know how long the mail from Canada to Europe is taking these days? I generally give it 3 weeks, but with Covid now, I am curious if it is longer.
I'd err on the side of caution if you're wondering whether to post earlier, Shirl. Mail from the States to here is definitely slower than usual. I don't think I've received anything from Canada recently.
Thank you so much for all your replies, Sabrina, Leah and Anita! So very much appreciated! His birthday is not till Aug 30th, but I think I will mail it soon.
Sabrina, I remember getting a card from you in 4 days! Oh how times have changed!
I just received a print mailed by an artist I follow on Twitter. He lives in the UK, sent it on 7/3 and it arrived on the east coast of the U.S. on 7/11! Shocked.
That is shocking Beth. I just got an order from UK that took 6 weeks.
Shirl I would send it by the end of this week. That will be abt 6 weeks. Better early than late right? Seal it really well too. I have lost cards and had just the envelope arrive in Europe! :( So now I glue and tape it.

While it was fast, the print was mailed directly from the artist to me, so there weren’t issues like shop closures, lack of staff, back orders, stock still to be opened or other difficulties businesses have been dealing with. Parcels can be treated differently too. And recently things have sped up in general, though still some issues, of course. I’d probably give it three weeks but who knows.
It took two and a half months for me to receive a package from Russia. I had almost given up hope that it would even arrive. Then, there it was in my box on Monday. I was so excited.

I sent a card to Canada from US and it took almost 4 weeks. A package from China took nearly 8 weeks. I haven't sent anything to UK real recently but my experience has been 3 weeks or so also.
I mail frequently to my friend in the UK. Usually takes about 2 weeks. I mailed another card to her last week, and she hasn't let me know yet that it has arrived. I allowed an extra week this time. It is for their anniversary Aug 1 so we'll see.
I mailed a card mid May to my sister in Scotland from California. It arrived June 1, I think. My mother-in-law also mailed her a card The same day as me and it arrived at the end of June. So I would recommend you mail early because there’s just no way to tell how long it’s going to take.
A friend in England mailed me a card, a gift of love, early for Valentine's Day and I received it at the end of April, on the very day that my dog passed away. I think it was very timely, don't you think?
I'm in New Zealand. A Canadian friend sent me a birthday card recently, it took 6 weeks to get here. NZ Post has an international mail updates page on their website giving their best guess as to transit times to different countries. It might be worth checking your postal service's website to see if they've provided the same information.
