Default mail to australia?

Does anyone know how long it takes a card to get from the US to Australia? How much extra postage does it take? My friend is studying abroad there this semester and I want to send her a card and some stuff. TIA!

I don't remember the exact cost. But I can give you this advice... when checking with USPS on shipping, be careful to click on Austraila instead of Austria right below it. ;) IT's insanely expensive to send things there. I can't imagine how I discovered that.

I send cards to Australia all the time for people that buy from me on ebay - For a 5 1/2 inch square card in a padded envelope its $2 and takes about a week and a half. I suggest going to USPS.com and calculate postage depending on what you are sending...

I don't know how much is costs from the US to Australia. But I live in Australia and it costs me about $2 to send a card. Anything much thicker than that will cost you a fortune.
It takes around 1 week and a half, but right now I am waiting for a parcel from the US and it has taken almost 2 weeks (it still hasn't come) to get here. So the time does vary.

Hi I also live in Australia so am not sure how much it costs to send anything from the US to here ... however something to keep in mind if you are posting something is to send it either airmail or global priority ... in most cases that should reach the recipient within 1 to 2 weeks ... 3 weeks tops. If you send normal mail ie surface mail it could take 3 months or more.

USPS allows for a flat-rate priority envelope to australia for just $12.95. it's the same priority envelope used in the states - you just pay higher postage. USPS says it takes 6-10 days to arrive.
