My boys are selling magazine subscriptions to raise money for their school. I have a choice between "Paper Crafts" and "Card Maker". Any feelings on which is better? I've never really seen either. I enjoy making cards, but enjoy crafts of all kinds and am currently a Cub Scout Den Leader and also involved with Ladies Craft Activities at church. If anyone out there has any opinions concerning these two magazines I would really appreciate the input.
Thanks, Robbie mom5boys

I would say PaperCrafts, but I've only seen one issue of CardMaker and it was one of their first ones so it may not be a fair judgement. You could check your local library to see if they have a subscription to either and see which you like better if you get a chance.
CardMaker is more "artistic" - appeals to card-makers and the more artsy type folks. I find inspiration there for things for "special" people - the people I want to spend a bit more time on and invest a little TLC in my card.
PaperCrafts is more cutesy. I find party projects in that one for my kids, Girls nite out, etc. I'm generalizing obviously - but it seems a bit more "assembly" oriented and less "creativity".
Well, I took all these opitions into concideration and I went out and bought a paper craft magazine yeaterday. Yes the mag is nice and I know that you want to buy mags from your son's. But I think this site is better than any magazine. I know you want to buy for your son's. My kids got t-shirts for 2 mag orders, do yours?. Two Last year my father inlaw emailed everyone on my email list regarding the mag subscriptions and suggested to donate dirctly to the school instead of buying the subcriptions. Guess what....Everyone did!!! So 2 years ago and this past year I ordered 2 subscriptions each. I paid $90 some dollars both years to get my kids those t-shirts!! If you really want a magazine it is cheaper to go through the mag company direct. And donate directly to the school so they get 100% of the money. I tell you, I am not spending $90 this Sept for 2 t-shirts again!! Just wanted to share what I have been through. Just MY thoughts. Good luck magazine shopping.

I get PaperCrafts, but I may try something else when this subscription runs out. THis is the 3rd subscription I've had. I like to trade subscriptions so that I can see what is all out there. Also I keep all my publications to use as references when I need them. I suggest going to your library and seeing which one you think you'd enjoy the most.
Thanks for all the input and ideas. You are all so very awesome! Everyone on this site is so incredibly helpful. Superlatives are an absolute necessity when expressing my thanks and anything else about this site.
Thanks again, Leaning to Papercrafts I think, but have also in the past donated directly to the school on other fund raisers.
I totally reccomend getting that FREE copy that they all offer... then picking from there what fits your style and needs.
I like most of the mags because I tend to do a variety of styles... But I agree with what Julie said. Card Maker is more true to a card cagazine... focused on cards. I also think that they offer a wide variety of styles.
