M&M Stick HELP!!
I've been seeing a plethora of M&M Sticks lately, and thought they are so cute and I would just whip up a bunch of them. I received my 1x8 bags in the mail, separated my m&m's into colors, and got ready to work...
If you consider 3 ripped bags, m&m's on the floor, and none stacked up correctly in the bags a success, then I'm doing well. However, I'm sure someone out there has a good idea as to how to EASILY stack up the m&m's without ripping the bag and without ending up eating them all out off frustration.
I haven't tried this myself so I'm just thinking off the top of my head. Have you tried using a funnel? That might make it easier to get them in the bag; but might not "stack" them properly. But I'm thinking once you get them in, loosely, you can use your fingers to gently rearrange them into a stack and then maybe put the last two or three in to make it full and finish it off?
I've started by adding the candies one at a time until the bag is nice and formed- usually abput 4 or 5 candies, then you can add them 2 or 3 at a time so long as they are pre-stacked as you "feed" them into the bag. As for not eating any while filling the bags, I have yet to come up with a solution to that "problem"
I made a long funnel of sorts out of printer paper. I used a piece long enough to insert into the tube all the way to the bottom. This helped me get in the first few candies. Once you get the first few in you pull the "funnel" out a bit and start adding more. Repeating this process until you are to the top. The process is very easy and I hope I explained it clearly.

Thanks everyone for your ideas. I think I will try to make the paper funnel and see what happens. I'm sure I can funnel them straight into my mouth if it doesn't work.

Oh yes, a few funneled into my mouth as well. The problem I had with the funnel is it worked so well I was dropping fewer than without the funnel. I always ate those that I dropped. After all I can't give my friends m&m's that dropped on the floor.

I too fill them exactly like this! I made 250 (!) of them for a holiday luncheon last year and am making 100 more next month for a friend.
After I've used the funnel for the first 5 or so candies, I pull the funnel out and just drop them in one by one. I use a chopstick to tap them down as I'm filling if need be.
