I saw a digital stamp on another website that looked a lot like Stampingbella. Does anyone know who makes these images? I'd like to check them out.
Thanks,
Larisa
this company is a reknowned "copycat". She has caused me sleepless nights and it is worriesome that she can still sleep at night. IF you would like to check her out, you can find her at www.pinkpetticoat.co.uk
I know several people who are investigating lawsuits with her, including myself.
I would love it for you to check her out and see.
Holy Moley.. those are definitely A LOT like bella.. almost identical. I'm sorry this has happened- I read about another designer with the same problem with her :(

Wow...those are way too close! You'd think she'd make it a little less obvious that she is copying someone else's designs. I'm sorry you are going through this Em. I do love the sweet treats set she has. Does anyone know if it's copied too, and if so where from? I really want it, but I'd rather buy it from the designer that actually came up with the design if that is the case of this set too.
I'm horrified to think of you having sleepness nights. It's so wrong for this to happen. you clearly work so hard to create your images and your girls are wonderful. This is a UK based company and I've often felt things seem rather familiar...so to speak..I'm not surprised to hear of there being numerous people upset though I am saddened.
AllI can say is that the Bella images are so recognisable and are such good quality that although it's a cliche, anything else is merely a poor imitation.
I do hope things sort themselves out and you can once again just get back to creating-you make a living from this and it's your energy, your work, your ideas. I wish I could help.
The Sweet Treat set looks very, very familiar, but I can't recall where I saw it (in stamp form).
She lives in the UK, so I'd imagine that pursuing a copyright infringement lawsuit would be very difficult and expensive. However, you might want to contact a British SplitCoast person to find out if there's an equivalent of the "Better Business Bureau" or the name of some newspapers.
Thanks for replying to this post. I thought they looked really similar and I was wondering what the deal was. Sorry you're having to go through all this, but thanks for answering my question. For the record, I like the bellas better.
Wow Em, I am so sorry this is happening to you -- unbelievable that someone can do this and get away with it. And you're right, how can she sleep at night?
Now I don't feel so bad... I thought it was just me that could not find them.

Wow.. that is so sad and shameful for this person to use Bella's likeness for her own monetary gain. The images are way to close to the real Bella! I wouldn't buy them even if cost a dime..it's a fraud! Good luck in your legal pursuits Em!
thank you to all my sistahs for your support. I never wanted to make a "stink" in the public forum about her.. just not my style.. but since you brought it up, I felt I had to address it. This has been going on for over a year.. she denies everything actually she denied ever seeing my website..LOLOL.
I know many artists who have been "ripped off" by her as I mentioned.. it is a horrible feeling but let me tell you, I firmly believe in what goes around comes around..
mwah sistahs!
Em

hahahha never saw your website??!! hahahahhaha sorry, I can't stop laughing! hahahah I'm sorry, but that's absurd!
That is such a shame. I don't know how a person could actually take any pride in being a 'copycat'*edited by jbalcer*. Sadly, it is so common. I used to be a decorative painter years and years ago, and many of the books with patterns I used to use I see being used by other 'artists' with only slight alterations.
I was browsing a popular poster art store online when I came across an 'artist' whose work was so familiar to me I had to look closer at it. I dug through my old painting books and sure enough, one of my fave decorative painters had been blatantly ripped off. If I knew how to contact her I would have, but apparently she has since stopped publishing painting books and is no where to be found.
The new 'artist' is making quite a living selling posters, licensed mugs, notepads, magnets, etc. etc.
It turns my stomache...
My mouth dropped open when I saw it!. I just recently got my first Bella and I plan on getting more. I think that is just wrong!
Em, I think that Bella lovers know the difference and are in disbelief too. You seem to have a good attitude about...
Oh my ,they do look like Bellas. *edited by jbalcer* I will never buy from her Em. I love my Bellas and I will tell my stamping friends not to buy from her .It is sad that a person would try this, it is very low.

I'm in the Uk and I can assure you that Bellas are well known and very popular. If someone was in the industry of cardmaking surely they'd research the market to see what was popular and would sell? There's no point in creating something no one will buy-you can't live off fresh air.
Even if she hadn't come across Bellas in her personal cardmaking life (and that would surprise me), researching the market would have meant that Bellas did become known to her surely?
Frankly Bellas are in a league of their own-there's nothing else like them (apart from these). Bellas are so individual it's easy to see replications-they're not just a tree or a bird-they're trendy young women.
I can't say for sure whether she has seen these images but denying all knowledge isn't the end of it in my view. Once you contacted her and pointed out the similarity she should have pulled the product and then either dropped it entirely or changed it to your satisfaction. That's just plain human decency. I can't see why anyone would want to upset other people.
At least your feelings are known to us now and hopefully people can use 'purse-power' and make it known that the market does have principles and morals. I think it is important to pursue these cases in the legal sense where possible although i appreciate that suing across international boundaries is complex and no doubt horribly expensive.
gosh, I haven't seen the images yet but I just discovered this site the other day and thought she had really cute stuff. Now after reading Stamping Bella's post I am shaking my head. Thanks for letting us know. I think you did the right thing posting here.
Ok, I found the xmas one. Dang, she is in the same Bella pose. Does she own the website address? Maybe you can stick it to her by buying the domain and then link it your site.
What an absolute shame, Em. I certainly hope that this wonderful community here on SCS will see that sight for what it is *edited by jbalcer* and hope they will vote with their wallets and get the real deal from you.
