Looking for Inside Knowledge for a visit to USA New England

Hello Folks. Hoping for some help from members who know New England. I'm visiting New England from the original England (!) on a cruise in Sept. The ship is calling at New York, Newport RI, Bar Harbor & Boston. Can anyone recommend craft stores within easy reach of any of these ports? Generally, I'm in port for a day each only so need something within easy reach.

Sorry, being a fellow Brit I can't help but just wanted to say enjoy the trip! While you're in Boston, clam chowder and crab cakes are a must if you can tear yourself away from craft shopping - it's years since we visited but we loved the Barking Crab, lovely informal place with great seafood!

That's tough! I live outside of Boston and if I were only going to be in port one day I would stay in Boston and see everything there is to see! There is a lot to see! I can't think of any craft stores in Boston proper -- I think you would need a car to find any good craft stores.
