Default Look at your own gallery

Or your stash...

I just looked at mine and wow... I guess my card isn't complete without a ribbon. There are probably a handful of cards that have no ribbons on them on the first two pages of my gallery. Looks like I just LOVE ribbons.

How about you? What is on all or most of your cards?

Mine is also ribbon, it's an addiction Lately I use my paper piercer on all of my cards too. I want to find some of those brass templates people are using to make designs or decorative corners, so pretty.

Could someone have a look at my gallery and tell me if there is something that seems to be always on my cards. I do think that I make quite a variety of cards, so I can't see it myself. I am curious!!!

Laura

I did just go visit your gallery - and I have to say - while you do have a great variety of cards the one thing that stands out - you always have the most fabulous focal images! The colors are so vivid. I think that is your claim to fame!

Glad you sent me to take a peek. Great gallery!

Well, I noticed two things (other than you do great work!). First, you prefer coloring in outline stamps, so coloring would be tops for you, I think. Then, I noticed that you have a thing for edges--scalloped, torn, corner-punched, curved, outlined, whatever. That's often the thing that takes an ordinary card and elevates it to extraordinary, at least IMHO.

HTH!

THANK YOU soooo much, both of you! You are 100% right! i definitely love my focal images, I looooove black edges, too And bright colouring . *LOL*

And if there is a lack of anything in my cards.. it is embellishment. I just don't use them much. A bit of ribbon and some eyelet and brads occasionally, but that's about it.

Gotta laugh on this one! Just checked out my gallery and the thing that stands out for me is what's missing, not what's there, LOL! Hardly any pp/dp, though I have stacks and stacks of it. (So many people here are using dp so beautifully, but it just works better for me on scrapbook pages, KWIM?) Hardly any hardware, despite the fact that I have 9 bead cases full of it and two sets of Hodgepodge. Methinks this thread is telling me something, but for the life of me, I can't imagine what!

Prolly half of my more recent cards have stickles on them, though. And most have lots of white space. Really white space. I'm a CAS girl, though, so it makes me happy.

Great thread! Love the ones that make you think!

Easy -- embossing and background stamps or wheels for a background. I'm in a rut, big time.

I've never given that much thought, but now that you asked, it looks like it's patterned paper.

Laura, I see lots of animals and little people and very few flowers. I'm just the opposite, I use lots of flowers.

Oh, what a good idea. My gallery is very small, but what I see is CAS, two layers, focal image, and strong color contrasts. This doesn't count the cards I made from kits or the recent sheetload cards, just the ones I "designed" myself.

Guess I have to start stretching!

this is such a good question! I was wondering about this the other day too. I do know what I don't use is pattern paper. And, being a scrapbooker I'm shocked that I haven't done much with pp! I find it a constant struggle for me to make my cards different but staying in the same medium card size.

Thanks for sharing, ladies! Isn't it amazing... I just never realize what I've been doing until I looked the other day... ribbons, ribbons, ribbons. I think paper piercing comes in second

For me, it's focal images that require colouring in!! I am all about colour!!!and cute images!! I don't use much ribbon, primas etc etc- but I have them.

Ribbon. I had a customer look at my display board and then turn to me and ask - Can you make a card without ribbon? I don't think I can!

Ribbon and stickles. Can't make a card without them. They just look unfinished to me. I use to think, "Why would you want GLITTER on a card?" How childish!, lol. Well, I got over it!

I looked at my 20 most recent projects. All but 1 have ribbon, and 11 of the 20 have black/white gingham. It's my favorite embellishment!

Some sort of sparkle using glitter or stickles is my must have. And right up there with that would be flowers (as in stamps or papers) and then next would be ribbons. And in recent times, like the past year and a half or more, mostly square cards with some other shapes thrown in there, too! I don't remember that standard size very well it seems....
