Default lol i wonder what Hersheys thinks about the increase in nugget sales

I was looking at all the cool nugget things that are being done right now and I wonder if someone in marketing at Hershey's is wondering why there is an increase in sales.

Oh this is nothing lol. I deal with the standard hershey bars day in and day out. I remember when costco stopped having the minatures and a few other things. My friends in NY without a sams or walmart were not happy campers at all. Needless to say I have cases on stock at all times.

I do candy wrapping incase your wondering why I have cases lol.

Hershey has a great overwrapping policy btw.

Hershey should send an award to Nichole Heady for her nugget labels and tin idea!! (Or at least stamp her a thank you card!) LOL!

Could someone lead me to one of these nugget boxes I keep hearing about? I did a search for them, but maybe did it wrong because I didn't find anything.
Thanks!

Here on SCS: go to the gallery, scroll all the way down and find Anything but a Card... you will find a lot of sub categories there and here's the link to what SCSers hafe uploaded for tins/containers:

I forgot to mention that the rectangular tins are nowhere to be found now - until the middle of December - cleaned out by us SCSers and PaperTrey fans.

Don't forget the nugget box templates that are on SCS somewhere! Some wonderful member uploaded templates last year for cardstock nugget boxes of many sizes and dimensions. I printed out all the ones I would use, and have used them over and over for gifts. Easy peasy and all the figuring out work has been done! Thank you again, whoever you are who posted these in the past!!

Good question! I wonder what they think Or how about Target's little notebooks. They are always out of stock when I am there...I usually can just pick up one at a time.

I don't think Hershey is actually moving to Mexico completely- just adding some plants there. HQ is still in Hershey, PA.

The mexico thing has been such a major upset for some people I know. There are some that have stopped buying their products and switched to belgium chocolate now. I haven't put much thought into it yet.

Unfortunately it has been reported in the news that they have closed/reduced some of their US plants and are laying off people even in Hershey as they are moving various operations to Mexico. Maybe the recent "nugget boom" will save a few USA jobs!

Correct!!! The HQ is still in Hershey and ALOT of the production is done there. Nothing better than driving through Hershey PA and smelling the cocoa beans!!! (I live about 15 miles from Hershey!!!).

Yeah I know so sad I have a friend that lives near there. If there were other companies with great over wrapping policies I probably wouldn't care that much. But they have one of the best so it's hard to drop their product line for something else. Wish they would have stayed in the US but there is always hope they won't shut everything down here.

I just looked at my bags and they say approximately 32. I figured I would get 2 1/2 nugget boxes out of 1 bag. HTH

I don't think they are that shocked. I have been buying nuggest for years now and covering them with stamped labels for gifts. I always stock up on nuggets when I'm out and about.

LOL, gotta agree with you, Robyn! This wrapping of nuggets is an oldie idea. And after finding an almost empty bag while cleaning out my craft room, one might even say "moldy oldie"! Eww...had to have been 6-8 years old! My mind still boggles at un-eaten candy lasting so long in my house!

It's fun to see these ideas get refreshed, though, and revitalized!

I was just thinking about this earlier when the head honcho for Hershey called here (my work) and I didnt ask him about it, darn it! We were talking about Black Friday shopping:mrgreen:

But I am definitely going to ask him the next time he calls and I may even get on him about this Mexico business...

Yes it is somewhere else but they already come pre wrapped in foil saving candy wrappers a lot of time. They are also not a ton more then the Hershey's bars.

If you are really interested this is a copy of their overwrap policy.

Have any of you received an email from Hershey's? They show products, give recipes and CRAFTS! This season, they have also included tags/labels to print out on your computer that have, for one thing, Hershey kisses on them. HOWEVER, these are tags for gift giving. Either they have no clue about what's happening with the nuggets or they do not want them covered. lol

You are allowed to wrap all of their products, there are just conditions. I have seen their labels, they're cute. But lol I would rather make my own.

Yes, but at least Belgium chocolate has ALWAYS been from "somewhere else"...

while Hershey does still have headquarters in Hershey, they have considerably reduced their workforce everywhere in the US, including Hershey PA.

I have a problem with ANY US company outsourcing jobs... no matter where it is outsourced to... I have friends in Hershey who are facing unemployment after 30 some years with the company.

EXACTLY! It isn't so much that it's made outside the USA. (Well, I have to say I started trying to avoid cheap crap from China.) It's the companies IN the USA that throw out employees by the hundreds and thousands in order to take advantage of cheap labor outside the country.

And the chocolate I buy is produced in the states they just use belgian chocolate. It's just something that some friends of mine have chosen to do. I personally just offer both options.

jpmayo you totally have to ask ;) I know that the idea has been around forever I've just seen a lot more of it going on recently for gifts and such. Especially with those tins that I missed out on. :( Huh I had no idea there even was an over wrapping policy you learn something new every day. I also didn't know they were moving to Mexico.

This article also states they signed a deal with China the month before announcing they'd cut 1500 jobs in the US by moving to a new facility in Mexico.

The article also states it made this decision based on lower sales...
