Does anyone have any templates or samples for using little scraps on cards? I just cut supplies for 50 cards for ladies at church and have a ton of little scraps left over. They are 1/2" x 1.75". This is a common problem and I have tons from other projects. I try to use them for little tags (I call them Levi tags) but I can only use so many of those.
Does anyone have a creative use for these little things? and if so I would love to see links or pictures as well as a description.
I made a card by stamping on small pieces of paper, and then punching out a variety of circles and flowers. Your possibilities are endless! Have fun! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
you could glue them on some chipboard and make chipboard coasters or pretties for the paper clips out of the die cuts or use them on chipboard letters & numbers . . . the possibilities are endless. . . bwahahaha!
i use them to stamp small items on , if they are long strips of paper i have used them to do the iris twist(fold- depending on what u know it as ) when i did invites for my SIL baby shower, i used the edges that can be cut like triangles to make corner mounts for the front of cards. i also used the small punches on them too. i have never thought about color blocking i will have to try that one.
I have my paper filed in the page protectors that accomodate 70 pages of paper. It will easily fit a pack of SU paper. When I pull out a color of paper that I want to use, I always try to use the smallest piece that would fit my needs that is in the protector. I put all of my scraps in the color folder that it belongs, so they are always handy.
At one time I was tempted to buy the paper piecing punch, but I came up with a way to duplicate the results. Just take a large square punch and punch out the color that you want to use. Then just cut at an angle with a scissors - you get the same result and you don't have to purchase and store another punch! This helps me use up scraps too. ;)
I run a 12" piece of paper through a Xyron x twice, remove one side as I go placing the small scraps on that, and then when it is full I have a mosaic strip. I cut it to make candles, borders, squares, or whatever I want to put onto a card. As my dear husband says, "You don't waste anything!"
Dini has a great tutorial on her blog which is like some of the card samples above (stampwithdiane). For me it just helped visually to see it laid out ... because when I tried it from scratch, YUCKY!!
