I know everyone has a different stamping/scrapping style. But how many layers is your average creation?? Single - which is hard sometimes, is 2 enough? 5 to many?? I am posting a poll!
When I first started cardmaking many years ago, I made cards with 2 or 3 layers. As I got more experienced and adventurous, I started making more complex designs with lots more layers. One card I remember in particular had 11 layers! Now I'm back to more CAS (clean and simple) designs and I have simplified my layouts and end up usually only using 3 to 4 layers on a card. I agree, it's a lot harder to make a one layer card than a five layer card.
I voted 3-4 because that's probably my average, but like Susan said I can have a TON of layers easy...a framed sentiment layered over an image with 2 frames on a background with 2 frames seems simple, but that's 8 layers on the base already!
I love all kinds though...some of the crazy embellished ones are so beautiful, and then there are CAS ones I love just as much!

I didn't vote because it really varies from card to card for me. Sometimes, it's one layer and other times, it's lots of layers. I love them all!
I voted 3-4, but I think if there was a 2-3 option it might have been closer to my average. Except when I am following a sketch - that bumps them up from my own personal norm. Of course, I could surprise myself when I go and take a dozen random cards from my box and actually analyse them!
Base card with image that is matted at the very least, so what is that, 3 layers (counting base I mean?) More often main image is double matted so usually a 4th layer. If card base is white a 5th layer to add a 4x5 ish square of colored c/s on the front.
I don't know that I have ever done 11 though, man that would be thick with SU c/s!!
