Last shop before the spending freeze? What to get?
I am feeling like I need to get a little something something before tomorrow when my self imposed spending freeze starts. How bad is that? OK, so I think I want stamps. Which ones do you reccomend? I like stamps that have many similar designs that you can "collect". Like I got all the bella bittyblooms recently. I am not interested in the Rileys or Magnolias, so what's good?
Thanks
Erin

You could try some of the "Who's that girl" or "Flopsey" sets from My Favorite Things. I *love* them both. That bunny is stinkin' cute and they keep coming out with must-haves for them!!
How about Anya stamps from Pink Poison? Elzybells? or those cute girlie stamps from Paper Pretties? I am saving up for these for sure! What style of stamps do you like? I'm sure there are plenty stamps out there that we can never have enough of! It's a vicious scheme to our wallets, I tell ya! kekee..

Anya's are cute, I googled but cannot find a link to shop, only blogs. Where can I buy them?
Thanks
Erin

First, Erin, if you are going on a spending freeze I think you should keep a daily journal! Then you can turn it into a book because I think it would be a great read ~ and you can finance all of your stamping expenses  .
Have you seen the Kim Hughes stamps at Cornish Heritage Farms? I wasn't sure if I liked them at first but I've been won over! [And...if you can postpone your spending freeze a tiny bit, there's a new release on January 6th ~ and it's adorable forest critters! Oh... that's not really supportive, is it? They'll still be there when the spending freeze is over though!]
Do you have Penny Black, or like them? Their clear "T is for Transparent" sets are really excellent quality. ETA: HA! I just went to your gallery and you do have them!! Great cards!! Keep uploading ;)
Or vintage? I'd go with Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps ~ excellent also!
Or Whipper Snapper? They have an unmounted option now and are less expensive. If you haven't been to Anna Wight's blog yet ~ visit! You will fall in love with chickens... I'm not kidding.
If you are going for the Elzybells ~ there are a lot of other choices on the UK site.
Oh - and Eat Cake Graphics. Cute, cute, cute.
Good luck ~ be sure to let us know what you decided on! I've been on just a "shopping restriction" myself... I'm impressed with anyone who can go on a complete spending freeze!
and then there's a tag 'tgf shop' on the upper right.
But when I copy the links here, they don't work! I think it's because they are changing over for tomorrow to The Greeting Farm.
I actually had a couple of links, the blog, the pink poison/splending stamping shop saved in my favorites ~ and now they aren't working properly. Maybe all the connections will be made still tonight!
My last purchase of 2008 was some A Muse stamps -- I absolutely love A Muse stamps! As of midnight tonight I am also on a spending freeze ... except for my SU stamp club once a month ...

Hi Erin....
Just wanted to say, "Be strong!" I'm on a spending freeze too...I decided to do it one day at a time and keep myself accountable by putting it in my signature here. I bought WAY too much stuff last year and just need to use it. I was quite tempted by some of the suggestions you got here. Cute stuff!
first off stay strong!!! You can also check out the pif thread where we are exchanging images. there are some awesome ones there. so for 42 cents you can get some fun things to color. But if you insist i would get some paper pretties. they are my new love!

At one point in 2008 I went on an online spending freeze ... I could buy stuff that I could buy locally, but nothing online. I live in the country and I would have to make a "trip" to buy something locally so that part wasnt that bad. And, also, the scrapbooking stores around here quite often dont have the newest stuff that I am looking for -- Nesties etc. Anyway, once I got past about 2 weeks, it was easier because I thought well, I have done it for two weeks now, lets see how long I can go. I went about 3 months not buying anything online. Of course that eventually came to an end and now I'm gonna try again!
I, too, am going on a spending freeze as of 12:01am January 1, 2009. I got new account #s for my CCs and my husband will keep them when the new cards arrive. (This is so I won't know the #s and memorize them.) (This is all voluntary on my part.) I went to Michael's and brought my son with me so I can use two coupons. I have 3 orders still to come in. I bought Willow stamps even though I don't have a girl. I just had to do some last minute spending.
Good luck to all and to me too. I know I will need it.
I started my spending freeze a couple of days ago but now I wish I would have started as of January 1st. I still have 28 minutes in California before it's 2009....Think it's too late to change my mind?
I had planned on Jan 1st but a couple weeks ago the new cleardollarstamps previews started showing up in the gallery. A couple must haves. So Jan 10th my spending freeze begins.
