I went a little crazy and placed a good sized last minute order. Totally weird for me, but Do the Hula. Oh, Balmy Breezes and Power Up ( I always kick myself for not owning this set when I want to make my dad a card!), and then I traded for All God's Children and What's For Dinner on the BST boards.
Fishy friends and some reinkers in Cool Caribbean, True Thyme, and Cranberry Crisp....my favorites! I was all set to get In Full Bloom and ****WHAM***** those stupid fish whacked me and I had to have them.
I had to get 'first in fashion' as my two daughters and I are shoe and purse hounds. THe other, less impulsive was 'and everything nice' b/c I have been looking at it for years and finally the clock was ticking!
There were several I was wishing for including 'best of cluck' but I had to draw the line as I wanted to save for the new catty items.
I actually held out, which now I am bummed about but I had a few customers do last moment orders. They choose, AYC II, First in Fashion, Wonderful Words II, and Whimsical Alpha - upper, lower and #'s.
Now I am kicking myself for not getting
Baby Talk
Swell News
Whimiscal #'s
Power Up
Tassel Time
I also got Glam Girl but not so last minute on that. I did that when the retirement list first came out. I was assessing all the sets and since I have two girls decided it was a set I would eventually use. Not now since they are only 7 and 4 but I think it is pretty cute! I did already make one card using the finger nail polish for my 7 yr old though! One of my friends is borrowing it b/c she did a bday party for her 14 yr old dd at a salon. Perfect for that! So a good purchase so far!
Art is intended to provoke an emotion from a total stranger. If youve succeeded in this, consider yourself an artist. Paper Shanks Blog. Love me or hate me, you are still talking about me
I got Seaside Sketches, Watercolor Mini's, and Knobbly Gnomes. I had been looking at these for years and had to have them. I was also going to get some Cool Caribbean and Buckaroo Blue paper but they were sold out by the time my order was put in. I will probably regret not getting Crab & CO seeing as I have most of the ocean themed sets but I'm sure I can get it somewhere down the line if my need gets to be too much LOL.
First in Fashion and Under the Weather. I stalked the Buy/sell forum on Sunday and Monday and was able to buy Lifetime of Happiness, Swell News, and all of the retired 2007 SAB sets.

I didn't order anything that was retiring. Did I want to? Yes! But I resisted. I figured that if I hadn't already ordered it, then apparently I didn't need it - both for SU and TAC (even with TAC's 25% off plus my demo discount). I figure that I have to resist SOME things. ;)

I already had some of the once I had to have, but I still had to get
Beautiful Beach (love the sentiments in that set)
Buggies & Booties
Knobbly Gnomes
bought/traded off the BST forum
Roses in Winter
Web wishes
still looking for a good deal on best of cluck and bubble queen
Had to get the adorable Happy Winter... too many years of waiting for him. I got Balmy Breezes and Cheesecloth BG but waited too late to get more IC paper.
And THE MARKERS!!!... Yes I did. Before the price increase! But I think my bff and demo made a mistake and didn't order the full set so I don't have the super cool marker box. *sigh*
I kinda regret not getting Buggies and Booties because it's a classic but I just couldn't spend any more 'specially bc I have a ton of baby sets.
Peace Be Unto You and O Tannenbaum after seeing what is being offered as a replacement in the new catty. I like detailed line drawings a lot and the doodle style of the replacement sets in the new catty turned me off and really made me think hard about those two sets because I've been eyeing them for a long time.

Oh and those were just my last minute purchases.. I bought like 10 other retiring sets after the retiring list came out and then I had another order where I bought another retiring set and then this one was really last minute on June 30.

I ordered Holiday Spirit and Happiest of Holidays. And Cool Caribbean and Cranberry Crisp paper and reinkers. I debated and debated about Knobbly Gnomes and Crosshatch background and ordered neither. Just the other day I decided my life wouldn't be worth living without Crosshatch and got it from the B/S/T forum. Still would like the gnomes......

Way back when - I bought the markers individually as I could afford them. I watched ebay like a hawk (that was before SCS was om the airwaves!!) and was able to get just the marker box for about $8. u was just glad to get it. So keep your eyes open and let everyone know you need it. Good luck!!
Sorry, I did not mean to hijack the thread but hit the send button before I had said that I just had to order Artifacts before it retired - it had been on my wish list all year but had not got round to ordering it. My impulse buy was Handbill Headlines and am thrilled that I didn't miss it.!!

Oh boy... shhhhhh! Don't set me off! That was on my list but I mentally crossed it off my wishes and added illuminations in it's place. The price differential is nuts for that though - so it won't be the first thing I order!

I got En Pointe and Mixed Bouquet. There were several others that I'd like to have, but I resisted temptation. I know I'll be placing another big order soon for new catty stuff!
