Thank you, Rachelrose, for the link to the background inspiration-love it!
I use my background stamps all the time. Will not be parting with any of them.

You need the 'Irish Blessing' background stamp. I think it's SU. ;o)

Thanks again for all your suggestions on keeping my measly 4 Stampin Up background stamps. LOL

I was going through my stuff yesterday and found this background stamp Hero Arts-Merry Background I remember buying it at Michaels for under $2 (clearance) but wondering how I'm going to use it...

Should I ink it or emboss it or just versamark it? How do YOU use these types of "word collage" background stamps?

How do you limit your searchs in google image to just the cards made with the stamp you type in? I typed in french script stamp, lots of pictures of the stamp itself very few actual card samples. Do you know how to fix this? Thanks!

You can do the same thing with Bing! Just type in the stamp name and look at all the cards made with it. There may be pictures of other things related to that name, but a quick scan gives you what you want.

I just saw an example of the 'kissing technique' for stamping, that requires a large background stamp. Want to try it.

Fool for Stampin'

Try refining your search. I have had that problem, and what I did was add keywords to my search, like "cards" or "gallery". And I did not do a wide search on google, I tried to narrow it down. Like, I log onto Pinterest and search there, or your favorite site that sells the stamp you are looking for.

I get as specific as I can. I type in "SU French Script background stamp" While you still get other pictures, it narrows it down a little.

I would go with heat embossing TBH. Tone on tone would be quite pretty. Or clear embossing powder then sprinkle similar color glitter to give it a bit of punch without making it dominant.

I was just thinking about this the other day. For a while I couldn't stamp anything without a background stamp - loved linen, canvas, script and some others. But I just realized I am not using them as much as I used to, really rarely. I don't think I will get rid of them though, when a project needs a background it really needs a background!

If they are wood mounted stamps, they usually have a code number on the side somewhere. that may help narrow down the search images.

Oh I love my large background stamps! I have a bunch of my old wood mounted SU stamps and I still use them now and then. I also have a TON of CHF (Cornish Heritage Farms) backgrounders and retired Scrapblocks - LOVE them! I also have several IO backgrounds and even one new one from Hero Arts.

Rubber background stamps are wonderful with many different techniques and sometimes you just don't want a bumpy background (from embossing folders). Sometimes I just want a plain and simple background so I can glue my main image down on it. For Christmas cards, I'm all about quick and simple and FLAT so I can mail them with just one stamp.

I had to get mine through amazon too. I kept checking the IO website for a couple of weeks hoping it would come in stock, but decided I could not wait anymore.
