[QUOTE=cindy_haffner]Hey Patty44, and Kathy Benko, I'm from Saskatchewan toooo. Not far from you Kathy, I live on a farm 7 miles South of Semans. North of Regina.
Hi Patty44 and Cindy, I am from Raymore. Cindy your cards are great!
edith199 by chance do you know which dollar store it is in Calgary. Possibly the location.
the one in Shawnessy is called Silver Dollar Plus (250 Shawville Blvd)
the one in DeerRidge is in the strip mall where the Garden Market is located (Deer Ridge & Canyon Meadows Dr). I think it's just called "The Dollar Store"

Hi all you canadians!! Nice to see this thread up and running still. I read about these "nugget boxes" -- and I can't help but wonder what a "nugget" is. Is it an american thing?? Do we get them in Canada and I'm just out of the loop?? I realize they are some sort of chocolate candy or bar - tiny -- but who makes them and where can i find some????

I just bought some the other day. They are in Wal Mart and Shoppers. They are in bags called Hershey Nuggets, Creamy Milk Chocolate with Almonds & Toffee, 180 gram bag - don't ask me how many was in the bag (I ate them too fast). They come in two different kinds with nice gold or silver wrapping. The gold wrapped nuggets come in a bag colored "apricot appeal" with a "really rust" rectangle colored center- how do you like that for a description a little stampin up humor, hehehe
Kathy
Another Albertan! I'm in Edmonton. I have to agree with everyone, how frustating it is to see all the wonderful stamps and tools and everything else but not be able to find anything comparable here.
There is an online store here called R&R Scrapbooking and she sells those mailbox tins (not sure if they are the same as the ones they talk about from Target) but they look very similar. I have ordered a few things and I find her prices to be very reasonable, she says she gets alot of orders from Manitoba! Best of all you don't have to pay Provincial sales tax.
Hey Carrie, there is another great dollar store here in Calgary. It is in the same complex as Winners on the corner of Heritage & Bonaventure. It is a Dollar Giant, and it is huge! I don't think I have ever seen a dollar store so big. It has a great selection of scrapbooking goodies.
It is great to see this thread still getting the attention us Canadian girls deserve!!!!
The dollarama is good as well its right by scrapbookers
If this is the one in the Macleod Plaza, the only "drawback" is that it's a "cash only" place...not that that has to limit how much you spend :p it just means a little more planning to include an ATM stop first ;)
thanks everyone on the input about "nuggests". I guess I haven't been looking hard enough. I'm going to look again -- especially with the great color commentary hehehe

Your right it is the one in Macleod and it is a cash only place. Thanks for bringing that up I totally forgot about that - I am one of few that doesn't live by my ATM card.
My little rant is the price that Canada Post charges to send a pkg. It's less than 1/2 the price to send from the US. If I go on eBay, I used to only look at the Canadian sellers. Now I look at the US sellers too, since it's pretty close to the same price, once you factor in the exchange rate and the lower postage.

Hi all, another Nova Scotianer here in Halifax. This Canadian thread is a great idea. Our craft stores are very limited here. Michael's only arrived this past year. I've ordered quite a bit of supplies off of E-bay. I try to find the Canadian sellers but there's not many.
i have a couple of ebay sellers i've been quite happy with..i'll post them here later for any of u....loves ya Gail..have u checked out suzy's list she made up for us?.. www.suzys.net/cretailers
Hi all,
glad I stumbled on this thread, I'm in Winnipeg and would love to know about web-sites with shipping to Canada. I too go to Grand Forks, North Dakota to do some shopping, there are a couple of good scrapbooking stores there, but my annual trip to Minneapolis and the Mall of America is always fun. I spend a few hours in Archiver's! :-D
The trick to ordering from the states if you don't want to pay duty & taxes is to keep the purchase under $20. Packages over $20 may get stopped by customs in which case you pay a $5.00 charge plus the taxes - here in Manitoba that's 13% :(
Although my sister is my SU demo, I do shop ebay. There are sellers who have cheap shipping and there are no taxes. Some sell individual stamps which can also be handy.
happy stamping....

Hi: I wouldn't mind a Canadian forum, not saying that I dont' enjoy all the wonderful ideas and information from our American friends :p . Like someone mentioned that we can't get some of the great products they you gals get for example the mailboxes:( . Maybe if we had a stampin up sister who lives in the US and they could get these products and mail them to us that would be nice, of course we would send them the payment first (just a thought). Everyone have a great week. :-D

I'm a member of an online craft group. Recently I wanted to buy something from a company who did not sell to Canadians. I posted my problem and one of the girls volunteered. She bought the items, mailed them out to me and sent her the money via paypal. Worked out great.

Another Canadian on board
Hello all my fellow Canuks!!
I am standing ontop of the Parliment buildings waving.
Where are my Ottawa area girls??? Sharlene (a.k.a Kaenasmommy) you seem to be the closest to me as Montreal is only about an hour/half away.
I too am in for a Canadian forum with promises to keep in check with all the wonderful US stampers.
It would be nice to have one link to go to (time saver) that enables us Canadian access to products/shopping etc. Would this help us with card swaps and stamp swaps as well?

Hi guys...I'm a Canadian too! I live in South Western Ontario. I didn't have time to read the whole thread but it seems everyone wants a Canadian forum. I for one, don't mind having everyone in one big forum. I love it that I've made great friends in many parts of the US and other places as well. I do believe there are a few threads out there that deal with great links for Canadian companies and also Canadian friendly US online stores. Just do a search. I do buy regularily...perhaps TOO regularily ...from Jacksonbelle! (see the link in my signature) She has always given me really great service and shipping to Canada. It's great to see so many enthusiastic Canadian stampers here! Hope to get to know you better!
