Here is another vote from Saskatchewan. I think anyone who can properly pronounce the word (saskatchewan) can be in the forum LOL;) Our own forum would be great, to hear about deals and finds from our own country! I would still be in on the the rest too!:p

Here I am toooo!!!
Living in Alberta, born in Saskatchewan, and married to an Ottawa Valley guy. I have been trying to find stamping stuff for over 3 years now. I spend so much time trying to find stuff, that I could take that time and drive south twice a year. Problem is I am about 6 hours north of the border.
Now I'm trying to find a Dollarama for some of that awesome red hearts ribbon!
stampkin, where in B.C. are you from? I'm from Courtenay. I think a Candian forum would be great, but it would also make even more work for our Fabulous Mods!
Sounds like I need to speak up for British Columbia! I am in the Fraser Valley.
I try my very best to support my local scrapbook store whenever I can (that includes not shopping at Big Box stores). Of course there are times when my LSS doesn't carry a product I need and then I grab a coupon and head to Michael's.
Here are a few places I like to shop locally...(the ones in red have websites)
Only one other person from Nova Scotia, I too live about an hour forty-five mins. away from micheals and photo memories and I too really want a Mail Box tin for a dollar. I think it would be great to have somewhere that we can post where we canadians got our cool stuff from so that I will know where I can get it from too
I have ordered online a few times but I am nervous to give out credit card numbers and I like to see the product in person before I buy it, I would never bother to send something back if I got it and didn't like it.
Anyways count me in!
saying hi from Ontario...love Dollar Giant...huge scrapbooking aisle, and our Dollarama's also have the new valentines stuff...and good news, the ones that are close to Dollar Giant (Argyle Mall in London) also accept debit cards....
We are finally getting a blast of cold weather, all you Winnepeggers(Sp?) must have been pushing it our way!!!
I love meeting folks from across the borders, but the buying Canadian sure is appealing.

my DH works in Sarnia sometimes....he's looking to go back soon as the shut down at the refinery starts
I went down a couple of times to stay and visited your stores while there...
one by Frienzy pizza and one down the street from the mall.......nice to visit other stores when in a different town

WE have some good dollar stores....Dollarama, Buck or Two and Dollar Giant as well as a Giant Tiger. We also have a couple of craft/scrapbooking stores....and a WalMart. Zellers and Superstore. Have some good restaurants too.
I have had some luck in finding cheap brads, eyelets, glue and ink (esp. for my stamping son [3]) at the "Dollar Store with More" here in Calgary (Deer Valley and McKenzie Towne. Their stock changes from time to time but I usually walk out with something. Plus, now that I learned that you could color your brads with a Sharpie, I am only buying the cheapies and coloring!
Cheers, Allison
P.S. I have started to section off my site into blogs that are regionally-specific. There is a Canada section so if anyone wants to let me know about their blog, it may be another way to "share the wealth"...

Oh, I failed to mention that my company is headquarted in the Bay Area, California. Everytime I have to go down on business trips (usually lasting a week), I go to Target, JoAnn's, dollar stores, etc. Now maybe it is the Bay Area (where everything is crazy busy, messy and picked over), but I usually haven't had much luck. The dollar spots may have some things but it may be no different than all the dollar sections (ahem...dollar-fifty) at Mike's. I have never, repeat, never had luck at JoAnn's. The best buys and best stock I have seen is at the Dollar Tree...
That being said, I think it is good that I live in Canada. Given the amount of money I spend and shopping I do, I would be seriously in debt. (I have never even neared a scrapbook store down there!)

I LOVE Photo Express! I grew up in Maple Ridge and anytime I go back home I have to go into Photo Express! I am on their e-mail list and REALLY wish there wasn't B.C. Ferries seperating us! I also recently discovered and Love the Clipper street in Coquitlam!
I'm also from Alberta, here in Edmonton we have Western Education they have great stamps from loads of different companies, but buy mostly from SU, have found some good things at Dollarama and the Canadian Party Store. Also found a couple of small scrapbooking stores that will sell ribbon by the meter and brads and eyelets in smaller quanity. Buy at Michaels for things on sale, or with coupons.
I'm a Montrealer, now living in Calgary... and I agree that a Canadian forum would be great for sharing ideas about resources. Nice to see so many enthusiastic folks from north of the border!

there is also a scrapbooking store on Ross street that my friend goes to all the time...here is a link to their website.
Another Canadian living in S. Ontario who would love to see a Canadian forum. I wouldn't stop viewing the other forums because their are also so many talented ladies living in the US and other countries who have such unique ideas and talents. It would be nice though to see things that we can purchase locally. I love the M stamps but am not able to find them here. The target mailboxes...I'm so jealous. My list could go on.
I am about 40 minutes from 4 Michaels, 3 great stamping stores and scores of scraping stores as well as every dollar store chain and quite a few independant's that carry lots of stuff I have to have.
...if any one likes Artful stamper or Sunshine designs, they are close to me - beautiful stamps!
Hello! from another ex-Montrealer, now living in Burlington, Ontario. I would love to see a Canadian forum where we can discuss where the best deals are and connect with each other. However, I would still use all the other formums too as I have learned a lot and made friends with some very talented ladies in the US.
I am only 45 minutes from Buffalo and try to get there to Joann's, A.C. Moore and Buffalo Stamps 2 or 3 times a year. I try to be careful on what I buy (checking the exchange etc...) but there are so many neat stamps etc... that we don't have here, like those $1.00 clear stamps at Joann's. (Must be time for another trip.) On my last trip I spent a little too much and thought I might have problems crossing back into Canada. Fortuneatly, I didn't.
For those ladies living in Montreal, when I visit relatives there, the 2 stores I visit for stamping stuff are Omer Deserres in Ville St. Laurent (art supplies store) and Bonne Idee (stamping store) in Pointe Claire Village on Lakeshore. Hope I have the right spelling. They have a website, but don;t seem to have any on-line shopping.
Ooops did I make a mistake in the spelling. The correct spelling is Bonnidee (all one word). The web address is http://www.bonnidee.com/start.asp
Looking at their site again, you might be able to order by phone or fax.
Another Calgarian here. I have to agree with everything that has been said above. I love surfing some of the American sites, but to get a $5 stamp here would end up costing over $10...is it worth it? Sometimes of course, but I would much rather be able to run to my local store and see it, touch it & of course buy it! I have just found a cute little store by Mount Royal called Scrapbookers Bliss. It is a tiny little store but well stocked and the gals are very helpful. They don't carry a lot of stamps, but the thing that keeps me going back is that they sell embellishments individually!
