It is! I'm really amazed since I'm right downtown and by the lake. Last winter we didn't have a drop of snow. At least my two-year-old has snow to play in this year and I'm happy about that despite the cold temps. ;)

Oh brrrr.......I'm glad I live in Canada's banana belt, even if the rain sometimes is just too much. My friend on a farm said she wants to get out gardening, and then she realized that it's still just January, and often February is our snowy/freezy/wintery month! ( I live on the west coast)
Two weeks after our big snow dump, the roads are still not plowed. The only good thing about this is my doctor told me to get more exercise, and I've shoveled enough snow in the two weeks to make up for the whole Christmas season.
Another Canadian here. I'm from Ontario and it's flippen cold!!!! Artsy_em is correct we didn't get the snow last year and I think we are making up for it now.
Hello Las Vegas.....visited you guys in October with 8 other girls! So fun!!!! So many blisters though. I knew better too.
Hi ladies! I'm in Niagara Falls and you are right, we have a very snowy winter this year - I was so happy when the temperatures lifted a bit today, but guess what - it's snowing again!!
About crafty shopping - I do most of mine online and I have 2 favorite stores - they are both in Ontario, so shipping is super fast: www.onecrazystamper.com Scrappin Great Deals

How did you get blisters? From cutting rubber or sorting through it on the Rubber Buffet? LOL Glad you enjoyed your visit to Viva Las Vegastamps! I've been cutting rubber for 20 years and have callouses and arthritic fingers to show for it.
Well lookit all the Canadians here! We're getting the snow here in Winnipeg too :( Hate it! Hate it! Hate it! Oh, did I mention I hate snow? We're getting another 10cm today. I don't mind the snow so much, but the wind has been unrelenting this year.
Did you know that they give all the idiots a day pass on snow days? If that's not bad enough, they give them cars too! LOL Of course, I am NOT one of THOSE people! *snort*

I live in Ontario and although these companies are not in Canada, they have fantastic and fair shipping rates. I just recently ordered from Rubbernecker and the shipping was $3.98 and arrived here in 7 business days. Sometimes it takes over 2 weeks so that was great. Another company with fair rates is Amuse...you ask as you are checking out for the best postal rates and they are soooo accommodating....be sure to pay with a credit card and not paypal so they don't have to refund postage costs.
Just thought you may want to know.
Posting from Burlington, Ontario. Definitely prefer temps in the mid-20's!
I'll second Karen's recommendation for Rubbernecker. Their prices are great, excellent quality stamps and their shipping is extremely reasonable and the orders arrive quickly. Will definitely have to check out the recommended Canadian sites for on-line ordering. For in-person shopping, The Rubber Stamp Store in St. Catharines has tonnes of great stuff. Forever Scrapbooks, Burlington, although it is a scrapbooking store, has some great stuff too. Angela's Papercrafts in Dundas is another place where money disappears from my bank account! Although the TRSS and FS don't have on-line ordering available (I don't think) they have ordered stuff in for me and then I can normally pick it up.
Maybe it's because I'm Canadian myself, but I charge the same shipping to Canada as to the US and don't know why some companies find it necessary to charge more to ship to Canada.

Hi! I live way way up north ...whitehorse, yukon!!! I have enjoyed reading everyones comments. I wish I had half the stores the rest of canada has...we have walmart(which seems to get all the crappy leftovers!!) and 2 small looney stores which dont really have anything either. So I rely on online shopping...but some many stores want to charge me shipping I guess they dont think the yukon is part of canada!!! lol I have found 1 us online store with free shipping to canada (over a certain amount) but all the stuff I really really want is always at micheals or other stores..ahhhhhh Thanks for listening to my ramblings!!!!
Glad to hear there's stamping going on in the Yukon! I had customers from Slovenia in the store last week and I had to Google it to find out where it even was! I imagine it's dark 24 hours a day where you are now?
Hooray for stamping in the Yukon (and Slovenia)! Would the U.S. store you're referring to be Simon Says Stamp because I think they are absolutely fabulous and you can buy almost anything from them. Spending $75 for free shipping is much less than spending $125 or more with other Canadian online stores!
Coincidentally, I had two stampers from the Yukon in the store today! And they told me stamping is alive and well there... also that they don't get the 24 hour darkness that Alaska does although they used to live in Inuvik and had 24 hour darkness there. I love meeting people from all over... this week seems to be Canadian week as I've had customers from Vancouver and Moose Jaw!
I was very disgusted with the way Sheppard Smith criticized PM Harper's French today in the Press Conference with President Obama... he was also very dismissive of Canada... all he wanted to do was talk about Egypt. I'll bet he would have been fired if he'd made those remarks about someone speaking Spanish!
Today was another Canadian day... I had customers from Vancouver and Calgary... the ones from Calgary said they haven't been getting the chinooks so it's been cold there this winter... also told me that the reason Canada wants to build the pipeline to Texas is because they don't have the water to refine the oil in Alberta... afterwards, I was wondering why they didn't do in BC... I wonder if the tree huggers won't allow it... Nebraska is objecting to the pipeline going through their state.
I would love a Canadian forum also. When I look around here, I do see a lot of reference to US stores....nothing against them at all, but sometimes un accessable to us Canucks.
That is part of the reason I started my online craft store...I order from the States and bring it to Canada and offer at almost the same prices as US stores. I keep all my prices on my site tax in and offer free shipping on orders over $100. If there are items you dont see on my site, just ask...chances are I can get them in my next order.
So..in saying this, a Canadian forum would be good...showcase Canadian stores and Canadian work. Great idea!!!
I just found this too...it was started a long time ago and hasn't been posted on in a while. I'm looking forward to going back and reading the posts!!!
I gave up shoveling snow. LOL I would look out or come home and its grown and inch again. *sigh* AND! it's still snowing... I have no energy left. Plus without sunlight I get fed up..lol
Good morning all. I have the day off and I'm decided I'm going to be a lazy bum today.
Couple loads of laundry and that it. Its so nice and quiet. I'm loving it.
I feel kinda badly since here in Vancouver we have had a very warm February and the cherry blossoms are already starting to bloom (7 weeks early!) ...elsewhere in North America, there have been severe snow storms and cold weather ...

I'm waiting patiently.. LOL
I m tracking the weather and how much daylight we are increasing too. Right now its starting to gets dark just after 6. So far so good. The weather will warm up soon. So more daylight time which means more snow melting and more sun. Keeping my fingers crossed for no more storms
I just got back from the Dominican and now I'm counting the days for warmer weather.
