Default Jumbo Wheel storage question

Do you think the wheel storage boxes are a good value? Do you have any at home solutions that cost less than $6.95 ?

Also- Can you fit regular wheels into the jumbo slots? It seems like you would be able to. They don't happen the fit 2 to a slot do they?

(In the middle of this post a friend came over with 4 rolls of Gingham ribbon she found on sale for me! YAY)

I bought the boxes , but I never used them! I use a pants hanger that has 4 swing out rods. You take the rubbery substance off the rod and the wheels fit perfectly. I have two rows for jumbo and two rows for regular. I love this system!

The hangers cost less than $5. They will fit 4 jumbos to a rod and 8 regulars to a rod.

The regular wheels will not fit two to a slot in the jumbo boxes.

I have the jumbo wheel storage from SU! I am in Canada, so it cost me $9.95 for 2 of them ... just in case you didnt notice, you will get two of them for $6.95, not just one. I like using them for storage. Right now I am just getting into wheel so I only bought the jumbo storage case. I am using one of the cases for jumbo wheels and the other for regular sized wheels. When I have enough to fill both, I will buy the standard size cases. But yes, you can store your regular sized wheels in the jumbo case, but only one will fit into a slot. Hope this helps!

Thanks both for your answers!

(I did notice I would get two- and that to fill the two jumbo wheels it would cost almost US $100! That's probably why they give you two... make you feel like you need more wheels)

I use my sunny dining room as my stamping room. I have had my wheels on a wooden thread rack on the wall. I noticed that my older jumbo wheels are getting a lighter color after two years. I think the rubber is affected from the sun and the heat.

I just bought the both wheel cases to keep my wheels in a sealed container. I have both jumbo and regular wheel containers already full since I use wheels often in my classes. I have had several customers buy these containers to store their wheels and they really like them.

I do the Pringles can too. Got the idea from someone on here a while ago. You can roll the wheel on a piece of paper and then attach it around the outside of the can so you know what wheels are in there. Right now I only have a few wheels so this works well for me.

The wheel storage boxes are wonderful. They are easy to use, look professional, and make you want to fill any empty spots right away.

I'd class them as nice to have but not necessary.

I have used the thread rack for a few years. The wheels are all equally accessible and it is very handy.

No, two will not fit in one slot for the large wheels. Tried it for you. Sandy

I've tried the other solutions mentioned and found it an unconvenience to get to the wheel I wanted. I bought the storage containers and like them a lot! I can easily view what I have and get to them quickly.

Arrrgh! I hate not having the edit feature! Inconvenience, not unconvenience!

I use to use the pringles method of storing my wheels, and when you don't have that many (say under 14 - 7 per container), it's a good solution. But now that I have more wheels, I REALLY like having the clear storage containers. I actually think I use the wheels more since I see them better.

And although it's not a big deal, whenever I wanted a wheel in the pringles container - I swear, it was always the one on the bottom!!! Again, not a big deal to empty them out, but hey - the wheel containers just pop open - voila - there they are, easy to access.

I use empty clear tennis ball cans, can't beat the price of them! Even if you can't use the tennis balls, they are about $1 each here.

I have both sized wheel cases. My demo bought them then sold them as singles - which I liked because I didn't need two boxes of both sizes. I love being able to see what I need, and reach right in and get it. I tried the thread storage, but not all dowels are the same. The two I bought wouldn't fit the wheels (so disappointing to have to return things). HTH.

Can I hijack this thread? Regarding the jumbo storage boxes.... Is there room for the jumbo inks along with the jumbo rollers (if the box was full of the jumbo rollers)? Thanks.

You could fit two jumbo ink cartridges easy.
