Very nice! The silver around the borders is a great detail. I have a gold pen, and never think to use it.

My Papertrey Mazel Tov set arrived yesterday morning and I spent hours trying to come up with a Rosh Hashanah card -- something simple that I could make a lot of. I'm using the shofar in an oval scallop punch with the "May you be incribed" sentiment on the front. I'd love to see what other people have come up with.

I checked the gallery and no cards from the set yet. Anyone want to share? I'll post mine tomorrow after I've actually got one assembled!

And I just want to say once again how much I love this set. The detail is so crisp and clean, it's a breeze to emboss it!

Mine just shipped, so I don't think I'll have it in time for RH cards. But you never know!

I use my gold and silver pens all the time, if I am out of gold/silver cardstock for layering I just make my own, or if I do not want to add a layer at all, a small line around the edge of an image gives the feeling of a layer. I have even used my pens to make imitation cord or string!

I got my set yesterday and then was sick during the night! I'm feeling up to stamping now and need to make a few cards for my Jewish friends. You can always go to PTI's own gallery to look for ideas (that's where I'm headed!!)

www.papertreyink.com and then follow the links to forum and gallery

Not very happy with this card, but wanted to try out my new stamps and use bright colors. The brad and patterned paper came from Oriental Trading. The Hebrew from Zum Gali Gali. I put a SU sentiment on the inside from Jewish Greetings.

OK, here is my first card with the new PTI Mazel Tov set. I used three images -- shofar, sentiment, and star on each side. I made 7 of these and then ran out of enough of the blue paper for background. I think I want to try another design. I hope you like it!

I don't know why you're not happy with the card. I think it came out great! Love the layout.

Here's my second Rosh Hashanah card made with the Mazel Tov set.
Rosh Hashanah 2008 2nd card by merryf at Splitcoaststampers
I stamped the sentiment from the first card on the inside.

Boy, I love this set. I could've played all night -- except for the first time ever I ran out of ivory cardstock in the middle of the project.

I guess I should now actually write them and send them out. Can't believe Rosh Hashanah starts on Monday night.

Happy Mail day!! And did I make any RH cards. Why no! I worked on DS's Bar Mitzvah invitations. Maybe I'll make some Rosh Hashanah cards tonight.

I'm so happy with this set. Thank you Nichole!

Now we need a campaign for Mazel Tov additions II with a kiddush cup, a braided challah, toda raba, and yasher koach. Nope, not complaining at all about what she did include, but now I want more!!
OMGoodness YES! (And a mask for Purim and something for sukkot!) My sets are on the way. Won't be here for Rosh haShanah, but we had that hurricane thing. ;)

I finally created the Bat Mitzvah card for my friend's daughter.

Here

The purple on the star and the purple on the mazel tov are nearly an identical match. Dang scanner!

I know it's a bit simple but .... go ahead - tell me how to improve.

I just wanted to stop by and say how thrilled I am that so many of you are enjoying the images found in Mazel Tov. I hope the set allows you to create projects throughout the year that truly embrace the meaning & symbolism behind all the special occasions in your life. Thank you for all your kind words and support. It really makes all of the time & effort invested in a set like this worthwhile.

We had the most amazing evening! A synagogue not far from where I grew up was hosting "Rosh Hashanah Under the Stars"! It was at an outdoor theater where you sit on the ground (or chairs), with gentle mountains in the background. We came early with a picnic dinner complete with challah. Some people actually packed up the brisket and gravy with vegetables, but we were not that motivated.
We were entertained by a klezmer (I'm sure that's wrong, but maybe you know what I mean) group as we ate. They were amazing! They had a drummer, keyboard, violin, and clarinet (although that guy switched out for a flute, horn, and I think one other instrument). Then we had the service while lots of kids played off in the wide open field. They even had a little portable wooden ark with a Torah! The rabbi said she would hurry her sermon along so that we could get out before it was completely dark. (I've never been in a synagogue with a female rabbi before. Anyway, it was a lot of fun!
L'Shanah Tovah!

OK, I must know where this was. It sounds so fantastic!

Shana Tovah everyone. A happy, healthy and successful (in whatever way you define it) year for all of us.

It was in Maryland in Baltimore County. The theater is called Oregon Ridge. The symphony always does a Fourth of July performance there, complete with fireworks and the William Tell Overture!
You could just hop on I95 and come on down next year!

I want to stamp eight separate cards for my FIL so he can at least have a lit menorah of some sort this year (he's in prison, so no real ones allowed). Using the menorah stamp from an old SU set, I would like to mask off seven candles and just stamp the menorah with one candle for the first night, then another card with two candles for the second night, and so on.
Which candle should I stamp to represent the shamash? The stamp, from SU Hebrew Holidays set, has a higher candle holder in the middle, so would I stamp that one (shamash) as well as the one on the right for the first night? Does this make any sense?

Yes, you are exactly right. The Shamash is the tallest one, and then you start with one from the right. What a thoughtful set of cards!

Yes, it does, and what a lovely idea!

The shamash is the tallest one; most often found in the center, but in some Hanukkiah, it is off to the side.

A mnemonic device to remember the order: Refill candles starting from the right. Light the candles starting from the left. Obviously the lighting order won't matter in this case, but know that you refill from the right side.

Hope this helps!

What about creating a card that you can have removable candles and/or fire so it is interactive of sorts? I'm not sure what is allowed but maybe some heavy cardstock and small circles of velcro or sticky dots?

I know it sounds silly, but maybe it may make the difference?

He's not allowed to have any thing with stickers or glue so I'll probably have to stamp on one layer of card stock and color it in with markers.

what about small velcro or felt strips. Like the old felt boards when we were in school, then you could "light" the candles each day.
