Hancock Fabrics is having a sale. The Janome Sew Mini is $49.99 and they have free shipping on $50.00 or more. (I've shipped four of these to different people who won have them on my blog and they aren't cheap to ship!)
You could always add some extra bobbins or a spool of thread to get over the $50.00.
i think they go on sale for $39.99 several times a year
They do, that's true. But for those who have no patience, like me, the free shipping helps.
Last couple of times they were $39.99, the free shipping was for orders over $100.00 so this almost comes out to be the same if you don't have a $100.00 order this time.

Did anyone see their newspaper ad a couple weeks ago? On the front it had "Janome Sew Mini $39.99!" and then inside it had the same picture with "Janome Sew Mini $49.99!" I guess times are tough and they had to get rid of their copy editor!

LOL! That's too funny. I bet they would have honored it. Oh and yeah, when it's on sale for $39.99, if you have a hancock near you, you could save on the shipping.

Martha, Aside from thread, you will need extra bobbins - I have one for each color thread - neutrals. I also bought extra needles at the time of purchase, but have never needed them. My machine is almost a year and a half old. That's about it.
This is so light weight. I just sit it on the floor at my feet and pick it up when I want to sew. LOVE IT!
I bought one too and I bought a little needle and bobbin kit for about $3. You can get bobbins or needles pretty much anywhere. Walmart, joanns, etc...
